Alright here's the effect I want:

I want a stationary building that fires when you right click, but not automatically (this I have easily accomplished.)

I want to be able to right click anywhere and have the attack fire (this I have not been able to accomplish).

I have attempted several things, including having my photon cannon (the thing that I'm using) attack with different weapons, etc.

Please test your solution before posting.

Thanks.

So it has to attack the terrain through right click? As in clicking the attack button/using the hotkey 'a' won't do it for you?

I want to be able to right click for a particular reason, so yes that's what I want.

Hmm, it doesn't appear to be possible for any right-click action to target terrain, except for set waypoint, which seems to be a hard-coded right-click action.

That sucks... DoA said something about it before he had to leave, so I'll wait for him to come back.

Is it possible to do with the attack command?

Hmm, maybe. You could try changing the unit's attack move to attack tile.

Attack tile, you say... I didn't notice that command before...

Attack tile doesn't do anything. It's basically a NULL order. It and hover, iirc.

Thanks for your help everyone, but I've thought of an alternate solution to my problem.
