http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flu

Most people who get influenza will recover in one to two weeks, but others will develop life-threatening complications (such as pneumonia). According to the World Health Organization: "Every winter, tens of millions of people get the flu. Most are home, sick and miserable, for about a week. Some—mostly the elderly—die. We know the world-wide death toll exceeds a few hundred thousand people a year, but even in developed countries the numbers are uncertain, because medical authorities don't usually verify who actually died of influenza and who died of a flu-like illness."[45] Even healthy people can be affected, and serious problems from influenza can happen at any age. People over 50 years old, very young children and people of any age with chronic medical conditions, are more likely to get complications from influenza: such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus, and ear infections.

I wanted to know what the users of SeN do about the flu -- Personally wonder if I am even going to survive this next one.

I don't believe vaccinations are a very good idea, so I never get them anymore (now that I, and not my parents, decide what goes into my body). I had the flu last year, and I just stayed home from school for about a week while I laid in agony on my bed or couch. What really sucked is that my son caught it too. If you think having the flu is bad on its own, wait til you have to take care of someone else who has it while you're still dealing with it yourself.

Uhh, ginger ale and ramen noodles biggrin.gif Personally, I don't think getting the flu is that serious. But maybe it is, whenever I get the flu I just take a day or two off from school, and go to the doctors just so my absense is excused.

Last year's flu was wussy. I beat in three days.

I wouldn't choose #1 though... why would I get a vaccine if I already have the flu? tongue.gif

I'd hop in a kangaroo's pouch and hope for the best.

Ginger Ale, Chicken Noodle Soup (this stuff can be awesome; I was sick with something for a few days, then tried some soup and it cleared within hours). And I'll use it as an excuse to stay home.
