Well, I've recently seen cars such as the Chevy Impala 07 with a "Ethanol" compatible Engine.
Anythoughts on this?
I heard ethanol is suppose to be as cheap as 99cents a gallon once its distributed.
Ethanol doesnt really help the enviroment considering that you need powerplants to preduce it. All it really is is a new place to go now that were starting to have less gasoline. It will cost less than gasoline thought if gas prices dont go down.
It's good to have another alternative.
Also, factor in that it procudes less energy and therefore you'll get less out of a gallon of ethanol as compared to gasoline. Or so it says in Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuelYou do realize that "Ethanol" is just what you know as "alcohol"; the one you can drink and that doesn't blind you.
Do we basically have an unlimited supply of Ethanol(I know not unlimited, but.. it's not like we'd have a problem with supplying it, right..?) Or is the same thing going to happen as it has to gasoline?
Ethanol is made from corn, so as long as we have something to process the corn and energy for the processor or whatever they use we can have ethanol.

OH Contrare!
The stuff in cars is denatured ethanol, so that they avoid paying taxes for alcoholic beverages. You will need a stomach pump to drink it properly.
Actually, ethanol is just 100% ethanol while most alcholic beverages contain 13~70% alcohol and for clinic alcohol, 70~90%. Drinking those ethanol WILL kill you. 70% can kill you too.
There are many options to alternative fuels. I hear they are making compressed hydrogen as a fuel source. Completely care enviroment. So is ethanol.
We should use wine as a new source of energy.
Its cheap, it never runs out and is made from grapes so if your thirsty you can drink it.
The only thing is that the earth would smell of alcohol.
Beer isn't made from grapes.
Lol. Beer has 13% alcohol in it. Wine has 30% alcohol in it. I'd see a car going at 30 mph on a highway.
It really depends on the brand and selection of beer, I've seen some types that were 35 proof. (20% in percentage terms)
35 proof is 17.5% buddy. Divide by two.
I learned that in 7th grade.

I laughed.
Anyway, I'm not sure whether this topic is about ethanol, or alternative fuel...
But I'll add this anyway!
I read in the newspaper that in France they're beginning to develop a Nuclear Fusion Reactor. It'll supposedly take 10 years for them to get far off the ground with the project, but it might be the new source of energy for our world.
Again, I'm not entirely sure what this thread is for, but...
First link requires you to log in, but thanks for the update
Neither of them have asked me to log in. :/
outdated papers require you to log in.
Topic is about ethanol of it being one of the new alternative fuel sources, sorry but common sense understand my post plz.
Anyone think it will help reduce global warning?
Since it requires electricity to make it, and power plants make the electricity which are run on fossil fuels it wont really help global warming much.
