Really now? How the heck do you extract the starcraft campaign sounds?

blizzard distributes a file that extracts them. maybe someone nicer than me can give you a link.

Besides if your using basic SC sounds in your maps you should use the freesounds thing. So it doesn't take up any space on your map.

Oh I thought he meant the regular sound O.k. then I would just use sound recorder and record the unit speech you want. May not be high quality but it works! cool1.gif

Sound Recorder. Press record and run the briefing. Then stop, and you will have a sound. wink.gif

use SCFreeSounds, it works wonders, just read the directions a couple of times and you will get it.

StarForge also has a very nice function for browsing through all of the sounds from the Starcraft MPQs and campaigns. You can listen to them, add them to your map, or even extract them.

Simple Guide:

Download WinMPQ, and Download SCList, and then place the Starcraft CD into your Computer.

Open WinMPQ and go to the CD, and open it, and look for the Install part, making sure WinMPQ is searching for ANY FILE, and click on it, within it you will either get a lovely list of everything with the sound names and such, or "UKNOWN". If the latter, than go to the top bit of WinMPQ and choose List, and SCList. Now you should see it all.

Change what it searches for and make it search just for .Wav, and that will bring most of them up for you. Works for both Starcraft and Broodwar, either Campaigns, and gives you maps, and the actual pathnames of the comments made by units within the maps.
