Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-11-29 at 18:32:29
Okay, well considering that the moderators of the clan forums cannot warn and stuff, I was thinking it would be a good idea to maybe give global moderators, or some other moderator abillity to moderate over them, recieve the reports, etc..

Anybody else think this is a good idea?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Centreri on 2006-11-29 at 18:35:20
It might be a good idea.. but I'm under the impression that Moose generally thinks 'It's their forum, not our problem'.

I agree with you.

They are still subject to SEN rules, and I have found that there is a lot of hatred between clans going on in there, "LOL DONT JOIN ____ ITS A BAD CLAN" ecetera. They don't have to even read the forum, just to link the reports to somebody else other than people who can't warn would be a start..

I think you're just saying this because of our disagreement we are having about Clan Chef in Clan Mp... I like the method of "It's their forum, let them moderate" I wouldn't want to be moderating a forum, using the rules i set out -- just for a global moderator to come and do what he / she thinks is right. If the clan is upset then they do have the options to delete posts, ban people from talking.

This is when it finally occured to me that it is too much.

But you don't understand, there is a set of rules SEN has set out and your clan forum has to follow them regardless of whether you have made your own rules.

Addition:
QUOTE
WARNING: Posts in this forum fall under the complete jurisdiction of SEN Terms of Service and rules. Any such violations are equally punishable in a Clan Forum.

May i add i'm not part of Mp, get that correct please. SENs rules do apply, and i'm pretty sure global moderators already have the power to warn people if they feel need be. However i think the general motive is to let them run it their way, until the point where they can't punish the person in the way that is deemed neccesary ( warning and suspending and banning from SEN )
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-11-29 at 18:49:19
SEN global moderators do have the power to warn people, but they do not read those forums, why would they, they're not in the clan... so how are they going to know what's going on in there when they are not linked with a report.

The most a clan moderator can do is delete posts to my knowlegde, that's not really enough when somebody does something warn worthy.

Shocko, it's funny how you are the one that starts all the attacks. Basically you should just back off everything.

Anyways, I think clan moderator's access should be upgraded so they can do whatever they want in their own forum. (Ex . Delete unwanted posts/threads, or delete posts)

I'm pretty sure they can delete posts, and lock threads is just as good. I don't always start attacks, please get that misconception correct.

Somewhere i think it was DTBK who said "what is this strange belief that global moderators and admins don't check the clan forums" or something along those lines, so yes in fact they do check the clans.

Clan Moderators don't need any more power then already granted, they have the report button, they should use it the same way others do.

um.... once you warn in the clan forums. its whoever that modertates the forums can either fix the problem or ban them from the forum, or report it to a global moderator

When member x flames in other, does he get his post deleted only? No, he gets warned, too. But if the moderators there can't warn people, so he's just really losing his post..

There has definately been enough flaming going on to warrant the Global Moderators/Admins to pop in there, yet I haven't seen it.

Maybe they do, I don't really know, just haven't seen them in there. Maybe they just don't check it enough.

And about reporting it to a global moderator, then why not include a global moderator to view the reports then...

This really should be closed, you're using circumstantial evidence that realistically, you can't prove anything.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EcHo on 2006-11-29 at 19:24:01
In my opinion, other mods and Global moderators have no right to clan forum. It doesnt really relate to them unless its like a super flame.

well there going to do it anyways... whats the point having global mod powers if you cant use them on that certain forum? iunno maybe its a global moderator responsibility to check every forum that isnt flaming/spamming.

global mods can do whatever they want in a clan forum...
its a previledge to have a forum set up here. if you dont like it then dont bother having one here. i rather have a place that is safe and reliable.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-11-29 at 19:38:10
Yeah, global moderatoers already have the power to warn and stuff, it's just I don't think they read these forums so much, because they are clan forums. All I'm really asking for is for global moderators or others to recieve the reports... it's not like they're getting new privillages, or taking them away..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shocko on 2006-11-29 at 19:40:00
They might already receive them, you should do some research before you make a proposition.

To my knowledge, the little line in the descriptions that says "Forum Led by: Corbo(MM), Voyager7456(MM), O)FaRTy1billion" refers to who recieves the reports, which is why you see some Global Moderator names under specific forums, along with Administrators.

Your knowledge isn't always correct. Those are the people that moderate it, however it is possible that Global Moderators receive the report instead, because they can actually do something, after all... they are Global Moderators.

Clan forums do tend to have their fair share of flaming and spamming with lax enforcement. I'll look into a solution.

Just upgrade the blasted report system to auto-send to all global mods and admins in addition to the listed moderators.

Global Moderators have the power and the authority to moderate and warn in Clan Forums, so any disputes should be moderated by them or Administrators. I agree, it would be nice to open up more where the reports go.

I think that at least the Clan CP should be able to warn in the clan channel.

Or maybe there could be some kind of system while in the clan channel seperate from the other forums warn system where if you were warned in the clan forum, you werent in the SEN forums. But that could take a lot of un needed work.

Clan Administrators and Clan Moderators are only given the powers in order to control their Clan Forums. They can moderate topics and posts in the forum, and ban members from the forum. Under no circumstances will a clan moderator be given access to the standard policy disciplinary tools of SEN without other standard qualification.
