Staredit Network -> Staff Lounge -> Regarding 7-7's "spam spree"

I've seen all the commotion about 7-7 reaching elite status in about 8 months, but what do all these numbers really mean? That he has no life and posts a lot? That really means nothing, 6 posts a day is something that I easily maintained during my most active days. What needs to be seen is a comparison of his posts.

My most familiar example is in thee World of Warcraft addiction thread in the games section. The guy said the exact same thing in different words over and over again until a few guys just spat it out and he seems to have gotten displeased and requested the topic to be locked for a reason which has been going on for the last 3 pages of posts and he participated greatly in those last 3 pages. We all know he knows that the reason he stated is false, in that post he is just making a cheap attempt to preserve the respect that he thinks he has from the community on these forums. I proceeded to let him know what was really going on in that thread with http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopi...ndpost&p=597207 (read the part with the quotes, the above is thread related discussion discussion).

If you see his posting times and habits, you'll see that pretty much every time he is on, he proceeds to post on every single topic that he can. I don't think that it brings any good to the site if the same person makes 20 posts in 30 minutes. It is not possible to make a decent post which provides discussion in 1.5 minutes. That and you have to read other's posts as well.

I know that he is a mapmaker and all (to my knowledge), but here at SeN we not only provide map making related things, but we also have discussion forums by which many of us like to go into and just have a decent discussion. We here are a quality based site, and 7-7's posts saying the same thing just break that quality policy. I know that technically he hasn't broken any rules, but most of the membership is annoyed at him and that is also a problem.

--- EDIT ---

Take a look at this thread http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=36617&st=0

During the last 2 pages he posted after every single other person, by which all where short comments. During the initial part of the thread, he didn't post once after long posts. This posting short posts after short posts further proves that he is just posting for either numerical gain or fame by posting a lot.

Actually, he gained elite status in the past 2 months, all time before that he was a Nullster. His post count would be about 30 posts per day if he signed up two months ago.

It drives me nuts too, but like you said, he doesn't quite breaks the rules. I've given him a verbal warn for what I call "post padding", but I don't quite see how we can make some sort of effective stand against him without making ourselves look like bullies.

His posts remind me of flat, dilluted soda or something. Just enough soda there to still be considered a soda, but yucky and unfulfilling...

I've never seen anything good come out of 7-7. He is a detriment to this community.

Agreed. 7-7's elite status is gone and he is fined 1000 posts. I've devised a new promotion system which I will expound upon in another topic.

Thank the lord Moose! I was reluctant to say anything because like 7-7, I've managed to get a million posts in the past month or so. To the point: something about him has always really bugged me, though I could never quite put my finger on what it was. Good to see I'm not alone here.

I say cut him a break because he has no life and needs to survive from SEN's supportive community providing him external human interaction.

I say things very sarcastically as well.
