Man made, if you don't believe me find why is the global warming created and then you can make up conclusions

It has been proven that the Earth does naturally warm up, however we people are adding to the 'problem'.

People are certainly at least partially responsible. It's possible that some (even most) of it is due to natural causes, but for the moment I'm going to vote for people.

IsaT pass -- FTW tongue.gif
I blame people, we find something that can make our life easier, mass produce it, then we're like
"woops, did we damage the environment?"

Cars for example, probably most overly used example however look at the car marketing. Cars are always being produced, even though according to some information that i got from a video we watched in class, maybe accurate, maybe not, but it said there was almost as many cars as people, and that was like 7 years ago survey, countrys like china have developed / are developing. So we have more cars then people, and third world countrys like africa hardly even have cars. So there is lots of people who have more cars then needed, and there is more cars being produced then needed.

We use paper in schools, however if the schools provided laptop in which you could do all your work on, so much paper could be saved, which would mean less trees needing to be cut down. All though the only real solution to the damage we've done is to find alternatives that may or may not be more expensive, we have to start eventually.

I'd like to also note that using all these things to make our lives easier and faster, it's also contributing to obesity because we're becoming lazy. If you are going to use all these benefits such as cars, you should do something to burn the calories off, not for the world, but for yourself.

The world has been going through global warming from the start. The Fall of the Ice Age proves it. But man is just helping destroy the world. Especially with those Nuclear tests

If I write what I think about global warming, you'll fail. Trust me, I contradict every single argument that politicians and journalists display.

Its fun to do that, isn't it?

Beer, then please write it to interest me. I love your essays on topics that interest me biggrin.gif.

At least partially man made - I voted man made.

You seriously think nuclear tests are causing significant problems for the environment?

Well, that is an excellent way to fail a test.

Alright, gimme a day or two then to write it. I'm a bit pissed off at the moment, so I don't think it's the best time.

I have about another week to work on this, so if anyone else can add anything I would appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone who contributed so far, and if anyone adds something good you just might get a mention in my paper biggrin.gif

Its true the earth does warm up naturally like whenever a cow farts it hits the ozone layer buy I say roughly 93% of it is humans.

Humans Vs Nature

Cars
Factorys
Stores
Wars (Is a real big one)
Nuclear usage
Garbage
Pollution
Arenas
Fire (set by humans)
Smog
People who waste energy
Home electronics
Ozone dissolving from other human causes
and the rest

Nature:
Animal waste
Water
The Sun
Volcanoes
Fire (set by nature)
and anything else I missed.

This reminds me of this quote from my geography textbook
"Take out all the humans from the world and the earth will heal itself"
"Leave humans to take care of the earth and it worsens"

I just think its the USA. Americans account for less than 5% of the worlds total population. Yet we use about 25% of the oil. We are also the worlds biggest energy and food wasters.

Anyway I think if we removed America from the world global warming would slow down significantly or even stop ohmy.gif

well thats my opinion anyway.

O that is so wrong on so many levels.
1) the US has the cleanest air in the world. (compared to other modern countries)
2) the US has the stricktest guidlines for air polution on the planet.
3) have you been out of the US like say south america, have you been to LA. Times that by about 30 when you go to peru, brazil, guadamala.

Its not the US's fault its those countries that do nothing about it! But I also believe that its nature caused. No one really knows how much the human race is affecting it. For all we know we arent doing anything, unlikely but it is possible!

I say both are responsible, but the blame lays more on the human's side.

Global warming is human caused. Global temperature is in inverse proportion to the number of pirates.

So I see your taking the not so serious look at it. Same here since I cant do anything about it, this time in my life, and most likely never.

Just because the air is 'clean' doesnt mean that its not contributing to global warming. Have you ever considered that winds may carry the smog and pollution away and disperse it?

Deforestation and higher carbon emissions are causing global warming. Carbon dioxide acts as a greenhouse gas to trap the heat in the earths atmosphere. We are definately contributing to the higher temperatures.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Do-0dan on 2006-12-05 at 19:48:02
We contributed to global warming by speeding up the natural process. If humans never stepped foot on this planet, then the process would have taken maybe thousands of years more to finish and result in the next ice age. Whether or not we were here, it still would have happened.
Now, if an asteroid was destined to collide with the earth around this time, then we may be responsible for slowing down the global warming that'd be caused by the asteroid. But that's a whole different topic smile.gif.
