I made my own computer, and all it cost me was $120 for a video card and a harddrive, the rest of the parts i got from different computers that people were just throwing out...But who cares, the parts still work just fine, this is the computer that i play starcraft on, make maps, post on these forums from biggrin.gif

It might have windows 2000, but i dont care...there is nothing wrong with 2000 tongue.gif

And this $120 computer can still handle games ...such as counter-strike and wc3, and starcraft and currently have about 261,000 kb ram, 40 GB harddrive, a good video card, a decent processor, and a flat screen moniter...

not bad for $120 huh?

Sounds like a pretty good deal if you ask me. But if you do other things then StarCraft (programming) you'll probably need more than 40GB (Visual basic, C++).

Mind to post a screen of it?

Yeah.. it's a good deal, but not that good a computer.

I can program on 10MB, Linux+TCC FTW!
Once i bother to get a power supply ($30), i'll have built a $55 computer. Well, the mobo was bought for $40 a real long time ago, so i dont really count that into the price.

Yeah, all you need is wordpad. But try actually running anything on 10mb. Even IE1 won't run on that much.

I can program without a harddrive, haha!

It's okay for 120 dollars, nothing I would brag about to my friends though tongue.gif What size is the monitor..? What is the processor...? What is the video card..?

i forget what my video card is and im too lazy to look it up...but its a good one to help compensate for my crapp processor lol...

and you see...the reason i dont have a good processor is because the only working motherboard i could find was an older one and it had the processor attached to it...so i cant get a new processor, ya that sucks sad.gif I dont feel like buying a new motherboard

p.s i used to have a linux for programming...but i dont really do that stuff anymore lol

I would've spent $600 on a decent computer myself. Spending $120 on a computer assembled from parts of thrown away computers doesn't really sound too promising. Chances are it'll cease to function sooner than later.

I have alot of spare parts from computers, i had to try alot of different parts, (motherboards, cd drives, sound cards, etc) untill it worked...and my computer is working so that good enough for me...the only complant i have is that the fan is kinda loud...and i cant leave it on over night or anything or i wont be able to sleep sad.gif
