Where is the picture of your terrain? It seems to be gone.

The ground is really blocky on the ramp, and is it even walkable?

It looks walkable to me.

It's walkable, it's just not blended. Did you even try to blend this? Looks like you took the brush of a ramp and pasted it a few times.

OKAY IT IS COMPLETELY BLOCKY but since it IS UR FIRST TIME,you can have a break, don't TRY to fix the sides, FIX THE SIDES its simple just use different blocks off terrain that match up with eachother until it works.

Like so:

I was slightly blocky at the top though, also, use some doodad sprites to cover up any mistakes u make, some mistakes are impossible to get rid of, so cover them up! try to put ur ramp onto a cliff. Search the MM Wiki for extended terrain to figure out how to make a high cliff.

Woot for 3D engines doing all that work for us now. You can get some seriously sick (awesome) environments with The Battle for Middle-Earth engine. That campaign editor is sooo much fun. Ramps are alright in StarCraft, but ever since migrating to a less-than-5-year-old game, it just looks bad. I'm hoping that with the advent of 100mb/sec+ broadband, games will be able to load textures, models, etc. in real time instead of having to download mods. "Good" terrain is only relative to StarCraft vanilla terrain, and let's be honest with ourselves, the StarCraft engine is severely outdated and looks horrible compared to new games. With that said, keep up the good work if you only have a Pentium in that PC. If you have something better, I'd suggest getting into mapping for newer games with larger audiences. I'm thinking about moving up to Command & Conquer 3 / World in Conflict myself when they come out.

Even with all the new games out - even after with having played with 3DSMax, I still like SC terraining much more. Go find the reasons yourself.
And this certainly is not the place to drag people away from SC to other games.

Is this better?

Better, indeed. But for THIS, you shouldn't need any sprites at all...
