You saved it as a .scm or .scx file?

Tell us exactly what the error says after you can't open the map. If it says anything.

are you running under an emulator like wine? I have heard that the file open dialog doesn't appear under wine but thats a wine bug.

it doesn't even appear in the list of maps you want to make

ex: i want to host a map on bnet that i made for testing...i look for the map, it's not there...

and i saved as ".scm"

Umm... did you save it in the correct folder? ermm.gif

When you are selecting a map it cannot go outside the 'maps' folder.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by blacklight28 on 2006-12-07 at 19:10:54
i know that

i made sure that i put it in the starcraft maps folder....

i even have a subfolder in "maps" called "creations". i can go into that folder but the only one's that appear are the one's i made on regular edit. And the only maps i can open on scmdraft are the one's that i can't open on bnet or something!!!

ITS REALLY WEIRD!!!!!

Make sure you place start locations. That sounds like the hosting problem.

How about you attach one of these maps for us to see.

this sounds like a question to be answered by "try turning it on".

try opening the map with another editor, then re-save.

make sure its in the STARCRAFT\MAPS\ folder.

He's already stated several times that it is in the Starcraft\Maps\ folder. He also said he can't open the maps he makes w/SCMDraft with anything else. Read the posts?

In reference to the topic, I'm with Excalibur on this one, I think you may have forgotten Start Locations tongue.gif

Are the maps open at all? Maybe they are protected?..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2006-12-27 at 11:34:40
post a map.
make sure its not a BW map if you dont have BW

Wait bro is it saying Error, cause if it is saying that it is becuase the map is protected.
If it says corrupted something got screwed up.
IF you cant find the map it is saved undersomething else
If you incorectly place certain things and the map cant properly read it, it will tell you or it will crash. it will only crash is your RAM isnt high enough. I think it is RAM but it could be something else.

i think i might have forgotten start locations blushing.gif and it doesn't say "error"

ADDITION:
i tried adding start locations and i still can't find it. and i can't open it on another edit, i can open the maps on scmdraft that i can't open on different edit and when i wanna host it. and for the 100th time, IT IS UNDER STARCRAFT/MAPS!!!!!!!!!

You do know that starcraft starts in starcraft\maps\broodwar when you go to make a game, right?

After you add the attachment you will see it in a list below the post, at that point click on "add into post" to show it in the post. It should show up in your post looking like
CODE
[attachmentid=22403]
until you post your actual message.

Whoa i just thought of something of the reason why you might not beable to see them... kind of like when you are looking for a file it gives you a list of types to open... you should try to swicht that drob down to something else. It should be located under the diologe box were you type in the file you want.
