Ive looked in the tutorials and there isnt any "MindControl Gun" only Halu, Defiler, and Corsair. One did say that he was going to do it sometime. but its been awhile and still no update. Does anyone know how to do this with virtual Hp?

Um I made a map somewhat based on the mc as a gun. Its not always the best thing because sometimes the da waits to shoot. Well im not posting my map cause its private and still in making, but i can tell you the basics. Also this would help if u cant get the unit anyway other then mc or else ull have to make some extra conditions.

So current player brings unit to location

move location on
whatever vhp system your using
give back to player at location
preserve

Yes, feedback would be a much better option.

You could also make observers over possible targets around the DA to show what you can shoot, then you MC the observers.

Or you could cover the whole map with observers and make a detector follow the DA so you can shoot anywhere.

Don't the observer get air pushed by your detector?

well you could just have vision to the observers and give them to the computer you have vision to whenever it comes in range?

Ultramilkman, I would like to see a map that uses feedback.

Just make it so that the enemy doesnt have any of the units that the player has, then make it so when he gets one of their units it explodes on that unit, by centering a location, although this would make it almost pointless since you don't really have to aim if you can't MC without an enemy.

There is a reason they don't have MC firing maps, because it is very easy to hit the target.

It's an idea, not made into a map yet, but I know it can be done. crybaby.gif

Doesnt feedback require energy? I need something that can get any enemy.

Putting observers everywhere wouldnt work... too big of a map

Tho observers might work... but having observers everywhere where the enemy is will kinda make hitting the enemy seem unrealistic.

Okay, so the most simplistic way to do what you want is to:
Just make it so that the enemy doesnt have any of the units that the player has, then make it so when he commands one of their units it centers a location on that unit, creates the explosion, kills the unit, but the only problem still is that there is no point to aim... You simply have to click on the unit, since MC can't be cast unless it is on a unit.

Observers would screw up the look of the map, why not just make it like an installation and use floor gun traps.

too many units

Spider Mines?

ADDITION:
Lurkers get used a lot as well

mayb lurkers... im already using them for the HT gun tho.. idk if that would get in the way. Mayb mobile grid would work for aiming.. create a lurker at each point and becuase ur have to do it fast u might click the wrong lurker and miss.

The map would look stupid if covered with any type of unit.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Storm_Templar on 2006-12-15 at 16:35:13
No, only a lurker at a 3x3 location around the unit that the Da comes incantact to. I could call the Da a "bombardier" or somthin. But its just a thouhgt.
