I'd rather if you implement the search field into the main window. It's such a small program - there is no need for many windows and dialogs in it. Other than this, good luck, it looks all right so far smile.gif

If you want to code a new one, then make it perfect, since the current TblPad really has pretty much everything one ever needs.

For example, instead of having a search dialog like on that screenshot, why not have it pop up a little statusbar with a search function, like firefox has? *later realizes that this is pretty much what BK already said*

Also, make sure to make an option to change the colours into their War2 equivalents, since the *.tbl format is the same...

Well... Apart from this, make sure every reasonable thing the user might want to do is possible.... smile.gif Oh, and make it open source <3

As in you can double click on a TBL file and it will open in the program. All you have to do is check the command line arguments, and one of them will be the file to open. (Depends on the language what they are, in C/C++ it would be the second one.)

Maybe spelling "mimic" correctly? Also, mimic isn't always the same color. Not to mention that this isn't cyan, this is. Based on what Blizzard called there colors, it's azure.
Sorry, it just bugs me for some reason when people do these things..

Its the color list from sen but I will fix it to just say "Defult"

ADDITION:
Update: Ok Farty fixed what you wanted

New name for the program will be: TBLEdit (unless someone has a better suggestion)

Finalized the layout for it and am working on coding still for it

Some of the basic functions are already done with it so it should be finished in a little bit

Think there is already an unofficial editor (as in not very popular iirc) with that name... a confirmation is needed but try calling it "TBLTool" or "TBL Writer" or smth like that.

could be that I'm wrong... it isn't an editor that can easily be found tongue.gif so it might have been smth that was started and never finished smile.gif

wth I search for 1 week and didn't find it... now I found it in 2 secs lol... I hate irony.

clickz0r
It's an editor for Diablo 2, but I think you shouldn't take advantage of that since people might confuse them...

Can You please give them an order?
Say... Order them by the tech tree Have the list like

race>Unit type>Unit>

So for example:

Terrans>Ground units>marine

And when you select the marine in a box appears All the strings that the terran marine uses, Say Build string, requirement string, name string and such.
The same for spells and other strings...
That would be really cool
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheNomad on 2006-12-12 at 23:43:52
Actually, that isn't quite possible... this IS just the tbl file editor, it's not a unit editor, not a grp editor and not a mempatcher. It's just a text editor...

stat_txt.tbl is basically a database of strings all thrown there. That means you'll have "Irradiate" written about 2 or 3 times, plus the "research irradiate" and "irradiate requires blah blah". Another problem is because every mod can have its own stat_txt.tbl file, this again, poses a problem as to finding the unit name or the editor string or whatever...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Corbo(MM) on 2006-12-13 at 21:55:46
I know what Stat_txt is, you don't have to tell me. Firegraft is memory editor, and you can order the units alphabetically or normal tech tree.
Is it so hard to make the prgram read them and then re order the srings?
