Looking through the string sections of popular maps you can find a lot of information that might surprise you.

For example I opened up the CHK of Sunken D 2005 (my personal no cheats version) and string number one was:
QUOTE
Matrix Bullet Time Final V8.0
Created by ThePieMaster
Revivsed by: {TM}.
**********************
Requires Six Players (or 3 very good players)

Sunken D 2005 is a variation of sunken D 10 way advanced, which is a variation of sunken D 10 way, which is a variation of sunken D I thought.
Was the map really revised that many times? Who is this ancient pie master?

The answers to these questions and many more lie in the unreferenced strings of maps. Any other strange things you've unearthed using starcraft map archeology?

Ive played that version of Bullet Time. I may still have it in my age old maps folder. I have no idea how it got on Sunken D though, because ive played that too.

If you have questions on old defense maps, i can probobly answer them, but this ones got me. confused.gif

Hmm... Thats kinda odd. Why would they use a matrix bullet as a sunken anyway? I find it funny how maps go through the same paterns. The normal version, then the insane version, then the idiotic version, then the pathedic sequel.

Back when very few people knew how to do square terrain, people would just delete everything in a map already with it and start from that.

Keke, ISOM was the shiz back then. I remember having to input 0 into it, saving the map, then doing the 2x1 square terrain in StarEdit itself. smile.gif

Back in the good old days.
I remember when GUEdit came out. That thing was so slow to do terrain.
