1) it's SPRITE, not spirit.

2) has there ever been a sprite pallete in any editor?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2006-12-13 at 16:10:35
there used to be one, but with the sprite tree it was removed.

This would be useful. Can it be put back in?

I probably wont recreate it, I didnt like the layout, it was too large and clunky and only thing it had which the tree at the left didn't have was a preview...

Hey man I understand what you are saying about the file being to big and all but if you are not going to put it back in could you at least do this:

- Make it so that you can have the option to flip the sprites when they are highlight and you press enter

-Also, can you make it so that you can put the sprites behind units. Since that doesn't really make sense here is what i am trying to say. like in MS word when ever you put a picture into the document you have the selection to put the picture behind text or above text. The picture being the sprite and the text being the units

I am pretty sure there is already the power to do that but i haven't really experimented enough to find out.

Neither is possible as far as I know. You can play with the flags in sprite properties and try it and post results tho

It couldn't of been THAT useful, I mean, is it really that hard to look through the sprites? Once you find good sprites the other ones you need tend to be around the same place.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BOTDZ-_- on 2007-01-01 at 13:31:09
Falkoner it isn't that it is to hard to search through the sprites to find them it is that I could of sworn that the platelet gave you the option to flip the sprites. And if you don't understand when I say flip. I mean, if the sprite is looking left, when you flip it is looking right.

So if SI says that wasn't possible and that it wasn't in the sprite platelet then I must be going insane.

But the good news is I know it was taken away by SI, but i still got issues with my SCM. My tanks and goli don't have attacks, and when I say they don't have attacks I mean they don't have weapons to fire. Tanks don't have their cannons and goli don't have their guns or missiles.

So SI I was thinking is it possible to add the option into SCM cause they would defiantly be awsome, but i know it would make the file bulky and probably crash the game.

Off topic, but what is clan COW, and were did you get that pic from.

the palette had the SC beta flag to flip sprites in it, but it only works in SC beta, not any normal version, hence why I had it labeled deprecated.
Since noone understood that it was deprecated I removed that label.

tanks and goliaths weapon damage are under their turrets, if you mean the units themselves, it should be there just not offset properly

Umm I am not sure what you are saying about the tanks thing. However could you add the thing i wanted for them?

Also about the sprite flip thing nvm about it, cause if it is a dead issue there is no reason to keep talking about it.

what exactly do you mean with tanks thing that I havn't answered?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2007-01-02 at 12:00:24
He sounds like he's using a really old version or Scmd1 where turrets don't show at all.

SI what I mean about the tanks thing is what you typed before:

tanks and goliaths weapon damage are under their turrets, if you mean the units themselves, it should be there just not offset properly

And Chuiu the problem is I am not. I am using the most modern SCMDRAFT there is and the problem is that everyone tells me look at the turrets but the turrets have normal attacks. But the actual unit (tanks and goli) dont, it is also the same with the heros.

Really all i can say is that i blame starforge. SCM is perfect but i wanted to see what starforge had to offer. And it screwed me over... but that is just a guess i cant prove if it did or didnt.

I still dont get it

BOTDZ, perhaps you would be kind enough to provide a screenshot of what you mean by tanks and goli's not having attacks.

Are you placing sprites or units?
Tanks and Goliaths are made of 2 seperate sprites, and because of that when placing sprites you can place there weapons and bodys seperately.

Post a screenshot to help us furthor understand what your talking about.

Goli

Goli Turret

Tank non-seige

I am not placing any unit (tank or goli). Even when a human creates a tank or goli, the unit still has no attack. THe same issue even pops up when i use trigs to make the units.

And SI, we are both lost on what each of us are trying to say... well at least i am.

Thats because you're being as vague as possible using 'it' with no previous reference to what 'it' is.

Those screenshots look normal, whats the problem with them?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BOTDZ-_- on 2007-01-03 at 02:40:40
Dude you have to be kidding me, you dont see anything wrong about 2 of the three imiages.

First of all the turret is the only normal one... that is why it is not first. Second of all THE OTHER TWO DONT HAVE WEAPONS... lol. And lastly I still have no clue why. But what makes it worse is that unit default is set for em... atleast one anyway, and it still has no weapons.

ANd to screw with even more of people's minds, eventhough they dont have an exsisting attack, whenever in a game they will use their missles, and their attacks, but no damage is done, and the unit even says it has no attack. However, visually they are attacking.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2007-01-03 at 09:39:59
umm, ingame the siege tank and goliath consist of 2 units which are joined, the turret and the base. The base only moves and has no weapons, the turret has the attacks, hence why you change the siege tank damage in the siege tank turret etc... staredit just hides this from you
