I believe you are using TrigEdit. Don't use it for anything but copy/paste/viewing some stuff/reorganizing triggers. Make your trigger in Classic trigedit, then edit the trigger (once you know how to use TrigEdit) in TrigEdit.

You want to go download Classic trigedit plugin from the site as well. It is very similar to Staredit's Trigger Editor, with a few aesthetic changes. For the most part, it is what you will use when making triggers.

Starforge also has a different trigger editor that you might want to try, but, ah, I've never liked it. It's a mix between Trigedit and Classic, and is impossible to find the trigger you are looking for, but very easy to make the trigger quickly, since you can copy/paste, and it gives you a list of options on the right.

Under the newest version of SCMDraft, it is under the "Triggers" tab, and Classic Trigedit comes with scmdraft2. Also, don't use trigedit, it's still buggy concerning switches.

I disagree with that it is impossible to find the trigger action or condition you are looking for with starforge's trigger editor.. you just type it out.. but I use scmdraft for 100% of my triggers now anyways, and I'd most definitely recommend it.

Without comments it is very difficult, since you can't see what the trigger does from the screen. If you can remember the particular position of the trigger you want in 100 triggers that all say "No Comment", you have one hell of a memory.

Oh, the actual trigger. Just use comments and decent organizational skills, then... even if it's blank comments, I never leave my triggers with no comment, so that part really didn't make a difference to me.

So ya. Evildude, get the classic trigedit working?

I wouldn't even bother using SCMDRAFT 2's trigger editor, only for terrain, I recommend SCXE Special mode and starforge, or uber@tion if needed.

Classic Trigedit is just as fast as SCXE and has more options.

Agreed, but Starforge is about five times faster than either one.

If only the SF trigger editor was an SCMD plugin....

If only SF's trigger editor were more like Trigedit with the tree on the left, viewable triggers, searchable, and had the list of suggestions next to it. Then it would be my favorite editor.
