  • Do you believe in God in the 21st century still as science and religion mix? More and more aethists are growing, will there be a point one day where there will be no religion, and if so, will science overpower all?

Didn't know we had this, but it is becoming a rather serious topic in everyday life for humans I believe...

Yea, these topics are too common, and they never go anywhere because you can neither prove or disprove god's existance. It is something someone seriously ponders at least once in their lives, and everyone comes do different conclusions.

Search old topics before accidentally recreating old ones.

To me, theism is simply a self-defense mechanism humans create to feel better about the universe, etc. Although neither side has irrefutable evidence, I'd place my faith in science as they have been infinitely more successful in understanding the universe than any religion has.

I doubt theism will die, as humans generally pursue happiness and creating explanations for things (even if they are wrong) makes then feel secure and better in believing there is a better place than disappearing outright indefinitely after passing away.

Why is this not >>Locked?

EDIT:
Someone called me on the reason for locking the topic. My intentions from the way I posted might be understood. All I meant was that these arguments go nowhere because no one enters them willing to change what they believe, and thus, it goes on in circles. I did not mean to close this topic with a hypocritical post. Hypocritical in that the reason I stated for closing this topic can't be proven or disproven either.

Anyways, it's always a good thing to speak up if you feel offended by something. Sorry if I offended anyone with what I said up there.
