Ah, the infamous "Post Your Desktop" thread, this time for good in the Computer and Technical forum! Also, post a picture of your whole computer setup, list its juicy specs, and tell us a bit about your computer and what you do on it.

The old speakers came with a Dell Dimernsion circa 1997.

My old graphics card was a Radeon Sapphire 9550se, I blew it up, then Doodle sent me an old AOpen, circa somewhere around '97, and then I just got this one. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so I just need one good enough for a large resolution and full colours.

It's sort of messy... I know you got watercooling and stuff, but still... but maybe I'm just picky tongue.gif

You can't flip your HDDs the other way?

Oh God, that is dusty as Hell!

My wiring job isn't that much better:

However, in my defense, the SST-TJ07 is a huge case and as you can see, a bunch of them are really stretching just to reach their components. I didn't want to run cables up through the middle, but I had to with the 8-pin CPU power cable. Also, I'm going to see if I can buy a round 24-pin motherboard power cable. I think I'd have a hard time taking that cable apart and putting it back together again. For the 4-pin Molex connectors, I'm going to put cable sleeving and heat shrink on. Also, I'm going to replace that ugly flat IDE cable from the X-Fi Platinum to the front panel with a round IDE cable. After I'm done rewiring, I'm going to install some lighting and finally water cooling for the CPU and graphics card! I think I'm going to write a guide for cooling PCs on here.

Uhh.. why not just sleeve the 24pin cable..?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2006-12-29 at 22:10:28
I already told you that I don't want to have to deal with putting it back together! tongue.gif

3-pin and 4-pin connections are simple and easy, but if I made a mistake with the 24-pin connection, I'd probably kill my motherboard (and I'm not doing that!).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-12-29 at 23:34:54
You don't have to take them apart, you should be able to fit the sleeving right over the molex's... at least... probably depends on what sleeving you have... maybe not, either way removing the plugs off them aren't that hard...
http://www.tech-forums.net/showthread.php?threadid=84389

Also, if you really want the 24 pin sleeved, you can always use spiral wrap.. happy.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2006-12-30 at 00:02:24
Nope. I want that cool mesh sleeving. That stuff looks awesome. Anyway, I'm going to just spend $10 and save myself the trouble.

Because some of your wires appear to be bungee cords. If I had wires like that sticking out, people would take them off without realising what they were.

those are metal mesh which are screwed to the case wall with a pass through, they cant be damaged easily, I'm not worried at all.

My case and GPU fans are so loud... I'm probably not really going to overclock this PC (already have CPU at 3.3 GHz and see no reason to overclock Ram/GPU). I'm definitely going to upgrade their HSF's though with a Tuniq Tower 120 and... well, what is a good HSF for the 8800 GTX?
