I posted this in the adspam forum awhile back, but I don't know if DTBK ever saw it. I think the adspam forum should be created as a subforum for advertising. After all, it is just advertising.Plus, it is annoying just to have that ugly empty forum in the middle of the page.

Yeah, I saw that. Seeing as I think the registration page has been fixed and we haven't gotten any adspam, it'll probably just end up getting deleted.

Apparently, adspam wins. http://www.staredit.net/index.php?act=ST&f...0&#entry608631p

So we know it doesn't go to the forum with the highest ID#.

That one does not look like a bot to me.

I have a solution for it. Make adspam forum invisible for members and up. So the bot can still read it, but it doesn't bug us members.

Spamming bots are members.

They're bots that register as members. Otherwise we would just disable posting for the bots. tongue.gif

does this adspam forum actually work?
Because if they are just looking for the highest ID (something I kinda doubt) then you could make the forum invisible and just have a hidden link somewhere on the page... like ?forum=999

No, I've seen them in other forums.

Well, it always went in the highest forum and it seemed to be run by an automatic algorithm. I haven't seen any bots recently, but I don't know if it's because the Register image was fixed, or I banned *@mail.*

I do believe they are non-bots because of the security image. I find it hard to beleive a bot just posts once.
So... that forum is going to die.

Yeah, it hasn't actually done anything unless it's wholly magical tongue.gif
