Due to my Hp computer destroying itself in essence, i will be getting a macintosh soon. I keep getting generic host process errors, sound mixer broken, heating coolant dead, 2 fans dieing, and a hardrive crash today. I'll be going to look around the apple store tomorrow to see what features they have to offer and my purchase will be around 20-30 days. I'm going to try and save all my memory into a disc and send it over, but if it doesn't work, i'll have to remake the map entirely (don't know what the difference between mac and pc could cause) So, just a heads up on what i am doing.

Macs are the best and first true computers released. They can do everything a pc can and it last longer and is more stabile. Only difference is price and emulation.

Im guessing a store clerk at apple shoved those lies in your mouth. Let me break this down for you:
Apples. Can. Not. Be. Modified. So you buy one, have it for awhile, need to upgrade? Cant. Why? Its an Apple.
Apples are notorious for not being compatable with various games ESPECIALLY crashing on Bnet.

My advice:
Talk to someone that knows their crap about computers and have them build you one. Its cheaper and usually works out better than buying one from a company.
I built my current rig:
Core 2 Duo, nVidia GeForce 8800GTX, 4mb Corsair Ram. Rest of the stuff isnt anything special.

Why in the flaming hells would you buy an HP? Theyre horrible. Probobly why your left glaring at PCs is because you bought a crap brand.

You may want to delay to to... let's say 30 years, then mabye apple computers may have a better use than a boat anchor(hence the handle).

Blame yourself for using hp, not microsoft. Use Athlon and move on.

I would really say since you are a starcraft player get a labtop or pc but get a good brand like dell or compaq.now if u get a labtop get acer it has a small keyboard but its good.

Compaq and Gateway are the 2 best brands. HP needs a recover partition or it's crap, and dell comes with NO recovery. Virus + Dell = Screwed Virus + Gateway = Goback feature and its gone

I feel your hate for dell, but you brought up the wrong thing about dell that bites. Dell's DO have system restore, loook under accessories... but dells are virtually un-upgradable, nearly everything is integrated.

(and you can still use virus protectection on even the junkiest of computers... ie apples)

I've upgraded almost every component of my Dell desktop. tongue.gif

Their laptops are crap though.

Uhh, no they wern't.

They can do everything a PC can do because Macs are PCs... The Mac OS cannot do everything that a Windows PC can do, but A Mac PC can run a Windows OS in bootcamp.

Uhh, emulation? What are you talking about..? And yes, price is a factor, which should be figured into the picture.

Can't be modified? Adding RAM is very possible... And it depends on what model you are talking about, but some Macs are upgradable..(Like you can add your own GPU, HDD, etc..)
There are plenty of Windows PCs that can't be upgraded... it's not just Mac.

The hardware isn't, it's just the operating system, but you don't have to use OSX on a Mac.

All retail pre-built brands suck ass. Get whichever is cheaper for the performance, because they all are the same. Crappy support, little upgradabillity, and no overclocking sad.gif

And you have 4megabytes of RAM? happy.gif Nice. I have a feeling you don't have that computer though, but whatever.. smile.gif

I'm not going to quote Joker47 on all of that, but most of that is just blantantly untrue. Apple isn't a bad company. Apple notebooks especially have a bunch of cool features. Don't hate on Macs for no reason.
So, what happens when you put Windows on a Mac? Is that a bad experience?

Compaq = HP... just so you all know..

Uhh Microsoft doesn't sell retail computers.. and Athlon a processor name... HP's are just like every other brand =\ And just so you know, Athlons aren't the fastest =\

Uhh, don't know how to reinstall an operating system..? That's your problem, it's not hard...

Windows has a system restore feature too, just so you know...

A rather long/unorganize post.. but whatever tongue.gif
Also, I don't own, and never have owned a recent Mac computer.. maybe an Apple II (I think.) and I'm not a fanboy, just what you guys are saying is totally wrong.

If a virus infects dell's system restore, its good as toast. Same with the Hyperthrreading, something I can no longer have on -.-

Sorry Kaboom, one last post:
I went to see the imacs and i was actually incredibly impressed. Macs DO play all windows games but i have to install boot camp to the macintosh. They are absolutely amazing but quite expensive. Next i'll be looking at sony computers and make a decision, but right now i absolutely love the macintosh.

There isn't a gateway store in my area. I had a dell before this crappy hp computer and it died after 4 years. Macs can be upgraded le0n, i did some research. Boot camp allows me to enable it to play any microsoft program including video games. The only thing i don't like about them so far is that everything is built into the monitor. Frankly, i will never ever buy an imac but i will get one of those premium ones (forgot what they called) but they are quite expensive.
