[sub]My first news post, badass.

Yenku and I have taken it upon ourselves to totally rehaul the melee section of the download database. All of the crap maps in the regular section will soon be deleted. Also, when submitting your melee maps from here on our there will be some new rules.

All melee maps must have a picture in the description, refer to here if you don't know how.
All melee maps must have (#) in front of the name to show how many players the map contains.

Protecting your map is your choice. I suggest that you don't simply because it's silly for a melee map. Any protected maps Yenku or I come across in the melee section of the DLDB will be deleted if it does not have a picture/player number. If this includes one of your maps, just resubmit them with the new rules and it will be accepted if it does not suck.

If you are unsure if your map is balanced, post it in the melee forum. There are a few of us here that will help you out. Do not post it in the DLDB, make sure its quality first or it will be denied.

# of downloads isn't the best way of judging a map. I think we can trust Valug and Yenku to know crappy melee maps when they see them, though.

About darn time. The amount of crap in that section is suffocating. Are you going to look through the "Professional" melee maps section, too?

Thank God. I've been waiting for the melee map section to be cleaned up. Now, hopefully, I can download a random melee map from the DLDB and be able to play it without screaming "IMBALANS!" every two minutes.

Hmmm..... i used to not care about melee, but maybe with a cleaned up DLDB i can start to play it again, UMS has been getting boring lately.... nothing really all that special getting made by people any more. Good luck on cleaning ALL of the crap out.

The pro section is pretty up to date, we even added a bunch of newer pro maps.
Update on the clean: 50 left maybe? I'll be done in 20 minutes.

UMS would be so much harder to do, all we do for the melee maps is look at them real quick to see how they are, the ums you need to do a lot more than that ;D

You think screenshots are necessary for maps that are unlocked?
I think it would be easier for us just to get screenshots for locked ones first, i guess over time we could add pics to the rest.
