I am running a sever on my comp and I was wondering where to buy a domain name for a good price, and how to put it on a apache server.
If you dont mind a subdomain name, you can use dyndns.com, i'm pretty sure they offer real dns for a price as well
Iuse no IP but I just wanted to know.
Every computer has an IP. Domain name gets sent to a DNS server, which will forward you to the correct IP address.
If you are set on a domain name, I recommend
http://www.namecheap.com/index.aspYou can also google for coupons. Google = your god in this aspect. If a site has a coupon input, you can generally find a coupon somewhere to save 25% on such a site.
That's expensive I'll just wait for the 2.99 a year e-mail to come back. twice a year.

You could go free and use co.nr.
Don't those put ads on your site? In the form of a small ugly bar that ruins your website.
No, more like a 88x31 pixel animation on the front page only.
:: Edit
Heh, they just added a no hotlinking thing a while after I put that there.
:: Edit 2
Actually, they just replaced the image entirely.
I dont think it even needs to be one of the animated ones
And it's not like they check, eh, Doodle?

Just what Pie and Doodle said, and no ads. But you have to be active.
I'd just pay 10 dollars a year. Better then wasting hours on a website I have no interest to be in. And possibly have ads.
