would like to make a small Starcraft video to show off a small mod I am working on. A movie would offer ppl a chance to see the mod in action without having to download/watch a pre-recorded replay.

How hard is this? What does it entail? and...Does anyone know url to any guides/tutorials on this? I have looked quite a bit, but without luck.

note: not talking about an in-game movie. I mean standalone.
Thnx.

Sorry this may be in the wrong forum.. and I apologize in advance. Sen's "general" forum however just seems too littered with trivial sh!t. Maybe Sen can create a misc Starcraft forum for topics like this?

I'm a bit confused here, are you trying to make a movie of clips of a replay or something of the sort? Something you could post on youtube or something like that for people to watch?

he's sounds like the promotion video clip which based from captured in-game video

Well.... he is a concised steps

1. capture video from ur game screen
(i mentioned free capture video software... in my tutorial which has pinned over this forum.... but they're under deldeted or highjacked i don't know why they were gone...anyways there is free capture video software and retail software either out there)

2. edit video - to edit video, there are bunch of solutios for them
basicly if u have widows-XP then u can get MS-Movie-maker basicly that could be
make editing without a hitch
but if u wanna more diverse video-effect for clip then i commend kinda profession editors such as Adobe-Premire, AfterEffect,Ulead VideoStudio,
SonicFoundry Vegas Video or something
but there is one of free solution which is have near-their powers
that is Viturl-Dub but that would be difficulty a little bit for figure out about that
but thats not quite different from most video editors

3.video file hosts - when u try to sharing ur video for community
u'd better use the service from Video webHost
there are many of webhost
youtube.com ,ZippyVideos.com, and google video host and etc...
just choose anything as u like

to know more detail, just googling then u can find guides/tutorials from there

Thnx Nirvanajung. I guess I'm getting a bit lazy in my old age. I need to revisit the "pinned" sections as it's been awhile.

Capture video it is. cry.gif I have access to Adobe Premier, but was hoping there was some ultra-easy magic program/method. Don't know why I thought that.

Ok will head over to some "video editing" sites and learn up on video capture/editing etc. I found one site http://www.videohelp.com that looks pretty good.
