FireFox is open source, more secure than Internet Explorer, and as far as I know doesn't crash as much. I think it wins.

I've never had IE7 crash one me. I don't use Fx, so I don't know about that. Besides, you can't tell me one is more secure than the other until you know of all the security holes for each one. And if you really want security, get antivirus programs.

IE7 is a lame copy of some FF2 features, and some extra useless features. FF2 works better and uses less ram than IE7. Also, and most importantly, FF2 works on Linux natively(Though, i can use the IE7 engine with a IE6 window with Wine). And... i hate the IE7 interface, though i love the FF2 interface.
And last but not least, Firefox has way a lot of extensions, and a lot of them are quite useful for many people, i just need the Gmail one, though.

They both only require 64MB of RAM. Fx recomends 265MB, while MS has no recomended size. And interface is just a matter of opinion.

You know, tabs aren't the real matter, they do help a lot, but the real matter is overall quality, Firefox isn't just tabs, if it was you would just have to install some toolbar on IE and that's it, Firefox is better overall, and it works on various platforms.
IE is just popular because Windows is, most people just don't know what the heck Firefox is, or just don't want to install it because of fear. Firefox is popular because it's a quality product, and it's free(Yes, as in beer, common users give a f**k if they can look at the source code or not, though it is better that it is free as in freedom too).

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. IE7, unlike IE6 which we aren't talking about, supports tabs.
