The only suggestion I have to offer is getting the template ready before making the topic... there isn't enough information here to make many conclusions or decisions.

Hello there, i would like to help you with the story of this map if you want of course.

(For the record, the mayas never wanted to invade tenochtitlan, they were far of Mexican capital. biggrin.gif )

I know they didn't however, I cannot remember any of the names of their enemies... sorry for the inconvenience.

Here is what I found:

Indian enemies - The Aztecs had many enemies. The Aztec Empire
forced other natives peoples to pay heavy taxes. Young people in neighboring tribes were captured and killed in the religious sacrifices. When Cortes arrived it was easy for him to recruit Aztec enemies to help him.

From here.

So for the enemy besides the Spaniards you could make the Native Tribes, or something along those lines.

The template could do with a bit of cleanup. Also, use SCMdraft2, it is nearly the same as the normal editor, just a huge lot better. wink.gif I just have on problem with this map. It looks too plain. Try to make something a bit special, and I will cheange my thoughts. Good luck anyways.

You should put the Aztec city on one side, then have a beach with ships that spawn the Spanish, and in the middle a jungle with native tribes that attack anyone that goes in there. You would have to break through the natives to get to the opposing side. If the Aztecs kill the ships, they win. If the Spanish kill the Aztec temple, they win.

That wouldn't be very realistic.

For some interesting things you could put in would be gods? and you would need to do scrafices to get favor with your god to get more people or cause disasters on the enemy. Or in the begginng you could let the players choose there gods to worship. (and a side note if you need help with this map i would like to help with it)

I think it would be fun to play that way, though. wink.gif

But bleh, no. I'm more into realistic maps than fun maps. (Or actually not, it's just something I say now. wink.gif) On a side note, the map wouldn't be an offense/defence map, but rather sometihng DotAish = not good for SC. Only good DotAish map I've seen on SC is Mechnogears, and that lags bad.

i believe that the city was in the middle of a lake or something like that, and only bridges could reach it, perhaps you should put small islands connecting the bridges, so that when Cortez invades he can collect money to buy warships or something of the sort

Yeah the city was on a bunch of islands in the middle of a lake. That'd make for an interesting thing to defend. Maybe you could make it so each island had one unit producer, the inner ones producing the strongest units and the outer ones producing the weakest units, so whenever you lost an island you would have less production power.

Hmm, I thank you all for the ideas, sorry I haven't replied >< well I was planning to do it to where it was an island with four bridges and defensive positions on each end of every bridge, with the spanish launching transports warships etc. and the indian guys commiting suicide by running over the bridges... really, thank you all for the help, I've started on the map but just can't get the terrain quite right.... ANYWAY if you have any more ideas for a "realistic" map, then please, tell me, this is the first map I actually plan to release as my Life of a Pirate map was just too....difficult for me!

ADDITION:
Well, I must say that I have most of the terrain finished (80%) and I have the aztec units named and prepared, all I have left is the doodads, triggers (10%), the spanish units, etc. The map is made to where enemy indians attack from the north, where two bridges are there to stop them, and the spanish launch warships from the south, pretty simple but the characters have to upgrade their heros to get anywhere, I just need some help with the whole "money for kills" thing since I haven't figured that out, any help will be...helpful!!!

Hmmm...

Sounds like a good defense map to me! Make people with swords, people with arrows, and catapults on both sides. Also use zerglings for leopards. Make them "special" hero units. That's all I have for now

I'm just starting to get into defense maps, and I would love to try this one out. If you need a tester, just send me a message.

For sure, I just need to edit the Tennochtitlan city (too big, and too many buildings for good navigation) then, I have to build the Spanish camps, after that it should be done, ill give you a tell for sure though!
