Description

In a fight for survival, you must use your Dark Archon's mind control abilities to take control of an army and kill the opposing team.

What's the difference of this map and [xM]ProduceCraft? The two maps seem to be quite alike.

Indeed the maps sound alike, however upon playing both of them you will see an obvious difference. However, I will try to list a few things that make it different, but these generalized differences wont tell you or show you all the differences.

1a. In ProduceCraft Unit purchasing was done in the corners and spawned constantly at your main base.
1b. In SpawnCraft Unit purchasing is done in the main arena, and units "come to life" after a set amount of time.

2a. In ProduceCraft you control your own units and attack whom you like.
2b. In SpawnCraft a computer controls the units, whom attacks the bottom base as instructed by triggers.

3a. In ProduceCraft minerals are gained through mining and collecting gas via refineries.
3b. In SpawnCraft you get minerals from killing an "income unit" which you chose depending on your Jim Raynors ability to take and deal damage.

4. Terrain is completely different.

5. SpawnCraft should be a lot faster gameplay wise.

So those are a few differences, but you will see that the gameplay of them are considerably different, if you chose to play.

Also, I was working on the map at 5am this morning until around 7am (my time) and I did most of the attacking triggers, they work extremely well and came out good first try.

Took out 1 of the "Incomes" and replaced it with a (no income) selection.
Added Give Money Function.

I guess it looks alright.
I wish you guys would come up with creative names for your map though. 'Craft' is getting old. Unless your a modder. tongue.gif

That would be the game that ran through my mind at the second of making this idea, yes it is like DragonCraft, but at the same time not really.

Yay a xM production. Well I liked ProduceCraft and this seems sorta like it, an ur screenshot date is wrong. Today is the 17th tongue.gif I hope I can test soon. Can you control when the computer attacks ?

well I was doing the respawn system, it's turned out to be a bit bigger a system then I thought but I am happy with how it will turn out. Screenshots will be set up during the balancing part when there is actually battles going on to screenshot of.

BUT if you release a demo people would get used to your maps idea and maybe like wat they play. Or if no putting up a demo why not just work on the spawn system now while you still can.

I was just playing my PSP, sorry for having a life besides map making tongue.gif, but the battery ran out so I guess I could work on it, but after 6pm I am doing two summatives, then tommorow I have a mock exam then I have a half day on wednsday then like one or two weeks off, however that half day is short lived because I have an english exam that afternoon pinch.gif I have an exam in the morning on thursday and an exam in the afternoon on Friday, but then I get to relax smile.gif

Psh, you have a life? NEVAH, once you join SEN you can never go back to ur normal schedule of living. You might as well get some stuff done on the map like posting screenshots and some other triggers.

My respawn system gives me the ability to implement 11 more unit spawns, suggestions anyone? (anyone being zell at the momment disgust.gif )

May you please go into detail about how your going to be doing the spawn system. Or is it just going to be a regular spawn at the main base. AND I dont think my question has been answered about controling when the computer attacks and when it doesnt.

No you wont control when the computer attacks, synchronized rounds is easier to trigger.

Well, as for going into details I will give the example of just how the probe works:

There is a DC counter, when the DC is equal to 0, it sets a series of switches.

The triggers go as follows:

Centering on the p12 units at base 2 and giving them to player 7
Centering on the p12 units at base 1 and giving them to player 8
Placing a P9 unit under the ground units
Placing a P10 unit under the air units

When there is no p12 Spawnable units left, it will order them all to attack the opposing team.

The winner of the great battle in the middle will then have their units carry on their attack into the enemies base where they will hurt the Dark Archons (your life)

When there is no more units left to fight it will do a series of triggers ( I will use probe respawn)

If there is 10, P9 zerglings at Base 1

{Center on one
Remove it
Replace with a P8 probe
Give the p8 probe to P12}

That ist hen copied 10 times in the trigger

The 10 zergling trigger is copied 5 times, and then there is one for 5 zergling, 4 zergling, 3 zergling, 2 zergling, 1 zergling.

This is because there is 60 spawn spots in each base, and by using these numbers I can get any amount of units out of the 60 to spawn all instantly.

For example, if there was 37 probes to be centered it would run:

10, 10, 10, 5, 2

If there was 60 it would run

10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 5, 4, 1

If there was 28 it would run

10, 10, 5, 3

I am sure by now you get the pattern, and it is possible to get all of those units. So once those units are all replaced, the counter will begin again, then the process will continue after the counter is 0 again.
