We've had an apocalypse of contest entries.
As a reminder,
December's Theme was
Apocalypse.
Let's get that judging criteria out there again:
QUOTE
Theme (10) - How well does the map fit the theme? Something premade with a few text changes (ie, your horro map from last month which you didn't enter with "APOCALYPSE DRAGON" isn't a good idea). This is no longer a static black and white 0 or 10 rating, there will be a range. The map will now be graded on how important the theme is to the central ideas of the map. A map scoring 0 on this won't be graded further, regardless of how well it fits.
Fun (25) - Most of the time, the deciding factor in contest entries. Important for me as I'm playing the map. Am I running around having a good time, or watching a unit talk to itself in a movie? Are there huge bugs that prevent play of the maps? Are there cool new systems and spells and difficulty levels and such things to keep the game interesting? Replay value is a plus for this score. If I ever go to this map again, is it going to be to play it over and over and give to my friends or to delete the scm/scx?
Aesthetics and Professionalism (15) - Did you use one type of terrain tile and no text color? Are there mispellings distracting me at every turn with some poorly made triggers? Hopefully you can create something that looks and feels decent. I'm not asking for extensive extended terrain or hundreds of sprites, a map that seems well-made should score well. On the subject of professionalism, please PLAYTEST your maps before submission. Nothing looks dumber than a map that obviously hasn't been tested. Having lots of bugs will definitely lower your score here.

Golden-FistTHEME: 10/10
Survive the apocalypse, self-explanitory.
FUN: 15/25
It starts out tough, but then gets too easy. Rescue civilians and various units to build them, and do other quests. Good stuff.
PROFESSIONALISM: 12/15
Put together nicely. Briefing needs work. Difficulty needs some tweaking. Upgraded ghost needs the upgrade damage boost to be better than the original. Rename your units!

Aliens are going to destroy Earth with their RESC Cannon, uh oh.
FUN: 12/25
Not a lot of action here.
PROFESSIONALISM: 10/15
Keeping the selection list for hatchery to human unit conversion visible would be nice.

Second Place! 400 minerals!Megiddo.scx by Lord_Agamemnon(MM)
THEME: 10/10
Those aliens are at it again, trying to destroy earth.
FUN: 12/25
Another map without too much action. The mining system is cool, but terribly slow.
PROFESSIONALISM: 8/15
Briefing is good. Pretty much bug free except for a major one... you might want to center a location on the "Ore Processor", or make it a building.

30/50 - (Sorry, only one entry will recieve a prize.)

THEME: 10/10
Satan and Baal are destroying a city, oh noez.
FUN: 5/25
Satan's forces are way too strong, and the city's way too weak. The map is put together very well at all.
PROFESSIONALISM: 1/15
Not a very well done map. You couldn't make seperate briefings for the forces? Get rid of the shield upgrades so that the "squad leaders" are useful. It creates stuff for yellow when he isn't in game, and that's even hostile to Satan. When I played as Baal without Satan, I didn't get a Baal unit.

Joke submission, yay.
FUN: 2/25
It was funny.
PROFESSIONALISM: 0/15
But not that funny.

2/50NOTE: In order to save 50kb from the map attachment, you can make this map yourself. Create a new map 128x128 with snow terrain. Place three start locations. Place Map Revealers for all the players and save. You're done!
Five maps and the scores were all over the place. What an apocalypse of a contest. Of course, we had the issues with not knowing how to use our server properly, so things definitely suffered because of that. Hopefully we can undo the apocalypse and fix things next time.
