Doom1 on Starcraft as you know is a classic game from 1993.
In this game you can switch weapons just like Doom1
-You can shoot barrels if enemies are near the barrels they will die
-You can open doors by using the door switchs
-Use Hp Potions to heal i first wanted them to be called medicpacks but i like the name HP Potion there are NO 999 heals in this game thats just damn cheap
-I'm sorry there will be no Key Cards cry.gif
-There are diffrerent enemies to face in each level you must use diffrerent weapons to kill them
-Yes there will be muiltplayer but only 2 players cry.gif
-There will be alot of missions i dn't have muxh room so i put levels in 1 128x128 map

Why no key cards? How will weapons work? Make it medipacks, there weren't any potions in DOOM.

Sounds cool but i agree with vindexus, hp potion wasnt in doom, use medpack!

HP Potions don't sound better because they are not called that in the game. You need Med Packs along with Keycards to give it that Doom type feel to it.

I guess your right but they do have switchs in the game i just find it hard doing the keycard thing but i put the name to medic pack

Keycards are a waste of time? If you're going to work on a map, then you should look at every aspect and not dump one because "It's a waste of your time." May as well dump the whole map if you say that.

And it was Medic Packs in Doom 1, HP Potions sounds more like Final Fantasy.

doom reminds me of duke nukem for n64 happy.gif that game was pretty kewl and so is doom, and i agree medic packs sound so doom-like it wouldnt be the same without em keycards too

Suggestion: Make many maps with levels, like my ex-RPG. Just make different versions of each map with different starting conditions on each version to make for progress in previous map. Althought it will take much more time to make it would be good.

If you already started then finish your map and then make like a sequel to it and make them load on each other or something like that. Can you load a map in LAN or Direct Connect?

yea tahts what i was thinking so if the terrain isnt big enough for all the levels u want just make another map with like teh same battle system and stuff just different levels

I'm workin on doom1 levels 4-6 right now so i can't work on level1-3 right now and i'll add keycards later

There is a really easy way to do keycards. Just rename a couple of units to be the different keycards, and put them somewhere unused in the map. Then make a trigger that opens the door, but only if the keycard is in the unused spot in the map. That part of your map could be your keycard inventory or something.
That way, when you find the keycard, it goes to the inventory and you can open the locked door!

Plus... A word of advice. Your preview.. previews are meant to be created to give either watchers ideas of your map or get them looking forward to it .. that preview didn't do any. Just make sure your next one does ^__^

I'm taking over this project now. I've attempted making Doom before, I got everything set up perfectly, except I couldn't figure out how to make ammo deplete or really how to switch weapons. I'm going to make 4 player Doom, just as I was originally. Time to get it on!

Well if you want a ammo depletion trigs I got some for you on my Damnation RPG map and if you want weapon switching I got that on my Doom3 map so if you want I can give you the trig files. Or I could just help you out with it happy.gif

Aren't u having a competition with him on DooM maps? seems like you don't really care if his maps come out and owns yours.

SHH it's a secret. No actually I don't care that his map owns mine or w/e I like helping people and personally I jsut want my Doom3 map to be as close to the actual game as possible. Thats one thing I really didn't like about ETEFT's screenshots and trailer was 1. Names of units he called Sergeant Kelly, Sarge >< *cringes* and 2. his screens look to be very clunky where as I am a perfectionist and I like to use ALLLL my map tongue.gif Anyway just PM me if you want help I will gladly lend a hand happy.gif

Differents between you and ETEFT, baal is.. ETEFT rushes n makes maps of games not really like game. While you try create the game almost same as game. Your more of a perfectioness =/ " Don't give up on your doom 1 map wolf better to try then do nothing. More you try better u'll get overtime. "
