Hmmm... I was just thinking if we would make a mini-clan on battle.net.
Its not like a major clan like (U) or anything, just a small tag that shows that you're a freelancer map maker who comes here.
Tags would be like "Name[SEN]"
I'd essentally be Yoshi[SEN].
I like it because its a more personal touch to this website.
There are no requirements to put the tag in your name. Its for UMS lovers of all types.

If you want, sure. Just slap the [SEN] at the end of your name. Although, its up to your clan leaders if they WANT you to participate (having 2 tags is a lot). Plus, your name might not fit.

Seeming as i am the only person who voted No, i guess i should explain myself.
With free admission it is pointless to have a leader. Basicly the requirements would be to have an acount and unless your banned from staredit.net then you wouldn't be banned from the clan. Besides keeping track of members in any since would be a pain in the ass.
Also creating a special tag for all the SEN members only gives a target for hate. Clans get enemies all the time, As a clan leader you persoanly get blamed for everything negitive any clan members do witch means every time someone with the [SEN] tag insults some one elses you get complaints about it, or a spammed channel. If you don't enmies then your clan leader must personaly deal with all situations sometimes with threats of banning members . The clan would become known as a newb clan or something similer. The leader would be overwelmed and there wouldn't be any honor in being a member other than the fact your promoting the webpage.
Of course you could make a memeber ranking system to make members have pride in being a higher ranked member but then that just starts to piss people off as well. Lower ranked members are upset for not being higher, higher ranked members feel supeiour to the lower ranked members and misstreat them. Then you get circumstances of people requesting there rank be increased or they quit and crap like that.
I think altogether an offical clan is BAD IDEA. I think going any further than putting "staredit.net presents" on your map and haveing an offical channel is over doing it.
A tag without honor can only hold hate, so your better of not haveing a tag at all. If you trust my judgement as a former clan leader at all do not create this clan.

Rankings really do piss people off and such so I am with Bolt saying I'm against it... but anyway, I don't really like the whole tag and such because you would need to refriendilize people on your list and then llamas might join up.
I prefer something that shows what you are most proficient in. Let's say you are best with terrain, you could have a "terrain artist" thing in your profile. Of course you do not have to be the best out of anyone with terrain. It would only say what trait is the best out of you.

- It was only one channel where people could come to help other people test maps, that's all I want in a clan
- It would be someone exclusive, so that people dont' join the clan and ask you test to test a map and then they're like "How come I my kills trigger wont stop giving me minerals"
Could we at least have a channel on USWest and USEast? Just kind of a hangout for people from here.

It's ultimately just for fun if you seek unity of some sort. He never said there would really be anything official about it just that you can get on the name if you love playing UMS or making them.

I voted no for various reasons pertaining to (U)Bolt_Head's post, he pointed out some obvious clan problems...
Also, when you stated "you're a freelancer map maker", why don't we keep it that way not only to avoid clan wars, Ops downage and flooding but to preserve Op StarEdit.net and save yourself the frustration of leading a clan with no established system.

Hmm, well it has its ups and downs. I'd probably join, but my TFC server has issues and I have to watch it to make sure no ones doing anything bad. Plus I've kinda fallen away from SC.

If it is not a real clan don't have a tag. People associate tags with clans, I feel like this clan thing is an attempt at advertising. Problem is I think it will drag in too much negitive advertising. Just how I was talking about clans getting enimies SEN could have the same thing happened.
