[center]- Description -[/center]


This is like an ordinary defense map where a unit comes in a follows a certain path except, instead it will be weak againts certain elements. Each time you swarm, depending on whatever spell you have selected it will damge the unit. One element out of all of them will do more damage than the other. Each time you swarm on it, it loses Virtual Hit Points. If it is a strong element againts it, it will do double the damage.

The basic Concept is to kill each monster each round which have 20 Virtual Hit Points. Some may take longer to kill because of the fact of which element its weak to and what its not weak too. Some monsters instead of taking one time around, will take two. You can buy elements in the store using the minerals you get after getting past each round.

There will be a bunch of spells which you can buy at the store. For now I have.

This is a map I will be looking towards finishing. Im thinking about have a series of these maps each with a different course of levels and weaknesses for each monster.

Level 1: Reaver
Level 2: Zealot
Level 3: Dragoon
Level 4: Archon
Level 5: Zergling (Boss 1)



[center]- Progress -[/center]


1-19-07: As of right now, I have the terrain and Initial triggers done like the ship return and unit loads. Also done with equipping the primary spells. Only to useable spells right now which are Fire and Ice. Fire does one and Ice does two.

1-20-07: Im done with all the primary spells like Thunder, Holy, Earth etc. The enemy regain system is done so they regain HP over time. The monster route is basically done. Equipping some of the secondary spells are done. The mana system is done.

1-21-07: Fira Spell done. All shopping triggers up to Tornado spell work.

1-22-07: Finished editing some triggers like the Regain System.

1-23-07: Finished adding in the burrow detection + the mana count bonus for being burrowed.

1-24-07: Finished adding in the first five levels and the boss.

2-2-07:

Cool this sounds like a fun map but are there gonan be spell upgrades to the basic 4 groups? that would make it alot cooler smile.gif good luck

Well, if you mean like Fire: Fira. Then yes, but instead of upgrading you buy it. Then you lose the old Fire Spell and gain the new one.

Well, I have the six basic spells. Theres, Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Holy and Thunder. The six main spells which I will change depending on wat effects I can do and wat effects I cant. And sure you can be a tester.

ADDITION:
Quick note, im done with most of the buying triggers, now im wondering how many levels there should be. And if I should do it so it does the regular 1 damage + the double damage. To lessen the trigger or should I take that extra step and have it so each element does different damages.

Sure...lets go with that.

Well anyways, im not sure if I can make it so that its really fun because right now. IMO it seems pretty dull, its kinda like a Trigger Happy D instead with spells and not a lot of unit moving.

Yeah, I can already tell about wat just happened and you know. Secret stuff.

Well, I did a little test with how the game would play. And the thing I liked was changing the spells. smile.gif BUT I tried a marine to go around the whole thing and I was able to get 5 virtual hit points off of it using the fire spell.
Well, done with todays progress which is equiping the primary spells, two spells are done. Return and load ship triggers, most of the terrain. Thinking about adding a hp regain system for the enemy so it takes stronger spells to kill than primary spells. I might get screenshots for tomorrow that way, ive had time getting into the main aspects of the map, and take screenies of whats really important.
Well, im now adding in some Vespene Gas so thats your real Mana. Each spell will take up a different amount of mana. Expect screenshots in a few hours.

ADDITION:
Okay, updated first post. Did the enemy regain system, restores 1 Virtual HP. So it must require teamwork so that all the players playing damage the level. I might add it so that each time you swarm the enemy, you gain a certain amount of gold depending on wat spell ur using.

Well, it depens on wat the testers would want to be ready for a testable version like x amount of levels, primary spell effects/equips ready. Stuff like that.

Okay, sorry about the delay in posting the screenshots. Ive been busy setting up my new thread and adding and balancing the map. Wat I have been balancing was the HP Regain system for the enemy. It sorta takes awhile for them and sorta not. The money system has been removed and im thinking about a different one.

ADDITION:
Okay, im done with the primary spells which is good enough for me. Ima see if I can get a demo posted up by the end of today or by tomorrow. Im also gonna see if I can post up some screenshots of the map while playing by myself. First post for edited information for one spell and a mana system is done for the map.

Okay, ive gotten four screenshots posted of me using the four elements. By order, Earth, Fire, Wind and finally Ice. The terrain may change to edit the gameplay, some effects dont really look realistic like thunder. Its a hallu dying so yeah. Post feedback on the screenies plz.

This doesn't look how I had imagined it, but still good happy.gif. Could you tell us which element is which screenshot please?

For lightning, use something like templar death or zealot death, they are more thunder like in my opinion.

An Idea for wind could be when you cast a spell on the enemy they get knocked back a bit, maybe use a 2x2 grid?
