Alright decided to go with the Zelda bit for a reason and it sounds better. I will post the basic story. Its kinda cheesy but covers what you need to know. It also points out to you that your starting character is not Link but Valek a Hylian Knight. And for some that do not know Ganon was sent into the Shadow Realm.
There was a time when Hyrule experienced great evil. The kingdom was saved do to a young boy named Link. Yet the events that happened were never set to action due to the powers of the Master Sword and the Ocarina of Time. Link’s exploits was heard all through out the land and the people called him The Hero of Time. A new evil now lurks over the land. One that seems far greater than what Ganondorf could cause. Cities all across the land start to fall due to this great evil. Only one kingdom stands strong during these events and that is Hyrule. It is only time before the forces of evil crush the land of Hyrule. The People of Hyrule start praying to the gods hoping that the Hero of Time will return. Only Zelda knows that he left the land in pursuit of a personal goal, she fears he may be dead. One Hylian Knight by the name of Valek has shown many great victories against the forces of evil. The Kings Advisor has Valek and his best knights prepare for an attack deep into the land where the evil has sprang from. As Valek and his men prepare to leave Hyrule Castle, Princess Zelda approaches him. Thus the story begins.
