Upgrades: This mod attempts to turn Starcraft into a "New" gaming experience all over again. We aim for balance and playability above all (because its all about LAN games). Yet this mod also features vast graphics alterations, iscripting changes, new sounds, and a new style of play with numerous new attack effects and unit dynamics. Let us know if you think something is unbalanced and we will do our best to fix it.

The requirements:
.The Brood War expansion.
.Version 1.14 or 1.13f (will probably work with other versions, but these are the two i've tested it on.)

So, what does this mod have in it?
* Tons of new sounds
* Soooo many graphics edited.....
* New art (you'll see it, trust me)
* All units are modded in one way or another
* Image and flingy editing
* Changed names
* Iscripting
* ALL RACES ARE BALANCED

It's around as good as it gets while staying compatible with the latest version, and not using firegraft. Btw, is there a way to become a beta tester for Firegraft?

You have to be in clan MM, or know DoA personally I think.

Given, that'll take quite a while. I'm kinda swamped with other stuff right now.

Also, I don't want to be giving out the old version, especally when I'm changing quite a bit of the format...that'd just make it that much harder to update. I fear I'm going to get a good amount of my testers unhappy about that already...but it needed to be done.

This is pretty cool, I like how you used existing parts to improve the buildings instead of trying to make your own graphics, those usually turn out lame :-|. Good job, I might play this with my buddies some time.

i agree, except that some of the changes could use a little bit better blending, as in make them look like they are really part of it biggrin.gif

Thanks guys, as for the buildings, the only two I see that dont look blended are the armory and CC, but thats just me.

Yep I did, currently im very willing cause I want to distract myself from my extremly complicated shooting system/ weapon system/ directional control system. To much to think at once, must have break!

Kookster, I would say taking a break from SC is better than taking a break from your system and start working on something else. Give yourself a rest! Try not playing SC for a week, it's a relief.

I actaully never play starcraft, I only mod it, and I havent touched my system for atleast a week, ive just been trying to find ways to solve stuff to much.

If you want to do FG changes, create a .pat with StarGraft, and there will be a number of people willing to update it to 1.14 for you wink.gif

Oh, I didnt know it could do that. But, umm... ok, Ill try to learn stargraft. But, I have a question, you know how voyager made antithesis rising compatible for 1.14? well, I dont know if it did this in the 1.13e version, but it crashes for me every now and then while I am playing. It also did this with other 1.14 updated mods. (I know mods crash, but it doesnt seem like they would as often as this) So, basicly, does FG sometimes mess up with the updating?

the latest beta version that he gave us had a typo in the code, so if you play more than once on a mode IE single or multi player, it will crash, cause of that typo.

try to learn stargraft, stargraft is alot like firegraft in the way things are edited, so the sooner you get started the better! also by learning stargraft, it will make you more fully appreciate firegraft!

I looked at it in a hex editor; he put in font\font16.fnt instead of font\font16x.fnt. Because the typo made it shorter, it isn't possible to simply fix it with a hex editor.

Actually, I'm not 100% sure that is what causes the crash, though. Could be some other typo.
