Is it possible to place Sunken Colonies WITHOUT them doing the "blob" all over the place?

Second, is it possible for photon cannons to work WITHOUT any pylons?

This puzzles me, as I tried it, and it didnt work mellow.gif the blobs are annoying... do I have to place the Sunken Colonies in "Space" or "Null" terrain or something?

I take it that blob == creep. The only way for that to be possible would be to either constantly remove it by creating and removing vespene geysers constantly or by surrounding it with unwalkable terrain.

Protoss buildings can be enabled without a pylon by enabling it with a doodad state action.

A good idea for sunkens is to put some wall terrain or something underneath/slightly around it. That way it'll look like its not in space or anything, and you can try blending it to look natural. Also, there will be no creep.

Ok with the doodad state, what do you mean exactly? whats the difference between doodads and units? what is it exactly?

Doodads are special units/terrain that are used to blend terrain or as weapons in installation.

The Doodad State simply either enables or disables the state of a unit (such as opening and closing doors). Enabling Protoss buildings with the doodad state simply powers them as if a pylon is nearby.

To enable the doodad state of a Gateway, make a location that's approx. the size of 1 gateway, and center it on the gateway. Then, do a trigger like this.

Conditions:
Always
Actions:
Center location on gateway owned by player X at anywhere
Enable Doodad State for gateway owned by player X at location

The exact same question has been asked very recently. Make sure you read through the questions that are already asked before repeating them.

The actions are Enable Doodad State for the protoss building and Preserve Trigger, you need both of them. Only 1 building will be affected for a player at a single location. Details here.
