My idea is... pretty basic... Make a halo-type game... and I mean, going through every level, short or long... all the way to the end... So it would start from level 1, to level 23 (1-10, and 1-13)


Halo - The Beginning
Level 1: The Pillar of Autumn
Level 2: Halo
Level 3: The Truth and Reconciliation
Level 4: The Silent Cartographer
Level 5: Assault on the Control Room
Level 6: 343 Guilty Spark
Level 7: The Library
Level 8: Two Betrayals
Level 9: Keyes
Level 10: The Maw

Halo - Judgement
Level 1: Cairo Station
Level 2: Outskirts
Level 3: Metropolis
Level 4: The Arbiter
Level 5: Oracle
Level 6: Delta Halo
Level 7: Regret
Level 8: Sacred Icon
Level 9: Quarantine Zone
Level 10: Gravemind
Level 11: Uprising
Level 12: High Charity
Level 13: The Great Journey

So far... if we were to do this, we would need to split the terrain (a 256x256) into about 10, 15, or 20, or even 25 different locations... The task wouldn't be too hard, but as for every level there would be a new setting... I believe that on a few editors it is possible to change the terrain settings? Nothing too complex would have to be done to be honest...

My idea is to create a perfect H1-2 clone... This would mean the names the same, like all the names if you know what I mean...

Here is a list of important characters, and their corresponding units...

Master Chief - Varriant... As you progress, you will have different units (weapons) and you can change back and forth (hero characters)

Cortana - Probably a Dark Templar, or a protoss unit like Templar, that to create the fading effect of the purple hologram, you would need to make a trigger that creates that "death" effect of the shadowing mist...

Captain Jacob Keyes - Oh, im sure we can think of a unit for this

Marines - Marines & Ghosts

Covenant Elite - A zealot (to create that "feeling" of actually getting bashed down with an energy sword)

Grunts - Hydras ? maybe lings...

Hunters - Big and Bulky, asks for an UltraLisk

Jackals - Hmm... A probe? Goon?

Flood Carrier Form - An infested? Something that when dies, would burst open with lings that attack... or something to the effect (could be just an infested)

Covenant Warriors (flood) - Could be a hydra... or a hero ling?

Human Warriors (flood) - A ghost or something similar

Infection Forms - Lings

343 Guilty Spark - An observer or a sci vessel

Sentinels - Im thinking scouts (they look similar)

Halo - Judgement Characters

Brutes - Havent thought of a unit for this yet

Drones - Maybe a Zerg Drone? Or perhaps a flying unit, seeing how these can fly for a short time... (maybe a queen or something)

Prophets - Tassador?

So if anyone wants to help... we would need the following

Idea-ist(s) - EdAi (Still need people)

Terraining - Me, EdAi & Some others (Would use a lot of realistic doodads such as trees, to make it feel like the real thing, including sets of icy trees, and making it look very very beautiful!)

Unit Configuration - Me & EdAi (EdAi gives unit ideas & stats)

Triggers - Me & EdAi for the most part & someone else (I'm not too good with that... so I would play a small role)

Story Line - Me, EdAi & others?

Spell Check - Me

Briefings - EdAi & Me

Other - EdAi

Note - I would be doing a bit of everything, but people will have to take major positions, because I can only do so much... thats why its called a TEAM project silly!

The Story Line for this game, would be a bit different than Halo... but thats where StoryLine idea-ists come for...

Size - 256x256
Players - ~5 (3 computers? Flood & Covenant & Human? or 1 for all?)
Items - Hell yeah, full of that!
Terrain Diversity - TONS!
Weapons - LOTS and LOTS AND LOTS!!!
Enemies - CrapLoads!
Map Type - RPG / Action FPS
Features - Adv. Waypoint Spawning (Like halo), and a few other things... that I cant get off my tongue

Héhé... I'm making the same type of Adapted map -> Diablo II : Lord of Destruction...
But I'm interest to participate to ANY map that is UMS and not a Def map!

Mate, as it looks right now you're signing up to every other map which are going to be made at the moment, and the only thing you do in the D2 map is demanding stuff.

Lol... It's because I can do everything I want until you (Chronophobia) do the terrain... when the terrain is going to be done, I give the map to MicAarZur, he put spells in it and then, I should do all the rest with some help sometimes...

count me in... i can't stand all these crappy halo wannabe maps...

What i can do:
-Terrain (very nice)
-Unit Config
-Spell Check
-Authenticity Check (making sure everything in the map is how it should be [ not extra crap like GOD unit, and making sure that enemies are correctly placed etc])

Unfourtunatly... i think this project is canceled... I looked at all the requirements... and it seems we cannot make the full map with just one setting... It would have to be split up into many maps, and would take a lot of work... and im not up for it, because to get all these levels finished, ATLEAST 4 different settings have to be used, that means atleast 4 different maps, and that is too much work for a single project... The end... Im very saddened, but there is no other alternative that I can think of, due to the mutli terraining that the game uses...

If we gather a large enough team (maybe between 10 and 15 people), then we could easily make a set of 23 maps, 1 for each level, like the terrainer starts with level 1, then gives it to the unit placer, then the unit namer, then the trigger person, etc etc, after he starts on level 1, the terrainer can start on level 2, etc etc, until they're all done, those can be the beta versions, then we can go back and fix bugs and stuff, and throughout the whole process, we can help each other out between jobs

we can even combine levels as we see fit, like, levels 1 to... about 4, can be combined on Badlands tileset!!

we've already started combining the team, we might as well TRY it, if we start asap then we can probably get the first part done within the month!!!
