With SC X-tra my map with all my sounds equal out to roughly 278 KB. With SCMDraft2 it equals out to about 400+. With Starforge 2.0 I get a whopping 800+ KB. All wavs are 16 bit. On SCMDraft2 I had chosen highest compression and taken out one of the sounds because it could be found in the MPQ thing. Usually I would use X-tra to do all my triggers but not this time because my map is 40x40 and that cause X-tra to crash. Does ProEdit compression compress the sounds if its not already compressed? Any ideas?
I thought starforge even kill the sounds... = ="
I'm pretty sure ProEdit compresses the strings not the .wav files.....you can look in the changes/updates for ProEdit
PROEdit doesnt compress the wavs. It have an option for select the wav compression in the menus but that is the mpq wav compression (like the staredit wav compression). I don't give support of that feature because PROEdit doesn't handle it (mpqcontrol does it automatically).
