I'm currently working on an RPG but I'm stuck on what kinda of little "things" I can add to make the experience better. Could you maybe give me some ideas? confused.gif

It depends on what kinda of rpg you're making. I think really think of a lot right now. But theres

Dropship/Spell system.
Levels.
Puzzles.
Good story line. (Even though that shouldn't be a little thing)

Well I'm defiantely using the dropship spell system, and the story line is probably the most important thing. I dont know about levels though... You can upgrade tongue.gif
My RPG is more of an adventure RPG than a killing one, alothough you do have to kill stuff to get money... Its kinda like Legacies of Haean.

Well first of all as exile said, you'll need puzzles. An ordinary kill, heal, upgrade RPG isn't exactly fun. You should try to include some music to make it more believable, turning off shared vision for the other people makes it seem more realistic as well. You should try to make boss battles imaginative and challenging so it isn't one of those "longer lasting HP" fights.

Definately, last thing that is needed is another wander aimlessly killing, upping armor and weapons like crazy until absolutely nothing can hurt you. Good idea would to be to limit what kind of upgrades you can get before certain bosses. I.E., armor won't go past 10 or 15 until Boss A dies who happens to do 30 damage, Armor can be at 70 for Boss K, who does 100 damage, etcetera. Triggers would be a little tricky, but doable.

Overpowered bosses are always a plus too, rather have something too hard than too easy. How you think they get to be evil and bosses anyways? By having so much power, they are sure NOTHING can beat them, so having them almost impossible is great.

About the music for the rpg, just a thought here which would be good for players like me, but have music sure, BUT have it set up so you can turn it off for yourself if you want (Player A likes it, Player B does too, Player C does not, Player D does, Player A B & D leave it on, but Player C turns it off for a while, and turns it back on later) and than back on. I tend to have wingroove playing while playing sc, and when extra music comes up, I usually have to turn my stuff off so I can hear what is going on without a couple different music files trying to go at the same time. It is really irritating.

Just a few thoughts for you, hopefully haven't gone too overboard here.

Thanx a lot guys biggrin.gif I wont make it so you upgrade untill you are invincible, I know about that. Also, thank you for the puzzle ideas, I have one already! And Immortal DB none of the players have shared vision on, but they can ally or unally or w.e if they want. Plus, thank you for the music idea (for turning it off and on). Thanx a lot cool.gif
