- They can send the program creator your CD-Key.
- The hack creator could then use your CD-Key, thus keeping you from being able to get on the Battle.net servers.
- This person could also break the Terms Of Use and cause your CD-Key to be muted or Banned.
- They can send the program creator your Battle.net account name and password. The hack creator would then have access to all your items and be able to delete your characters.
- They can cause the user of the program to start dropping all of his/her items to the ground and then exit the game. Thus allowing other users to pick up your items.
- They can stop the game from working correctly, or make it very hard to connect to Battle.net.
- They may contain Trojan horse viruses as well as back door programs that can grant hackers the ability to remove or manipulate data on your computer remotely and without your knowledge.
So next time you use a hack, just remember that it might be doing some of those things listed above.
I will do a news post about this either tomorrow or the day after. Don't ask why not now.

I guess I won't use them then.

I'm almost surprised
Nice try
About trying to surprise people with back-doored hacking and all things related to your first post.
That wasn't my objective. I posted that to inform everyone that those hacks can also do what I listed. I never thought about it before, and im sure a lot of other people never did either.
What did you espect from people that wanted to destroy any community by introducing a "fun" aspect in a game (hacks) ?? They don't only want to make people happy, you know?
well... if you have a virus scanner it should del the hacks that contain trojens, etc. and if you have nortan internet security it asks to permit or block certain connections to the net and you just have to click 'block' and delete the retarded hack and flame the creator

'tis true what Chu says paladin. There are backdoor programs.
What's with all the hack-related content?
People want to hack, they hack.
Should they download a hack that does the stuff, good for them, they deserve it.
I say don't warn them and let them lose their CD-Keys and Accounts... they earned it.
I know that Mike, im just saying people don't obviously HAVE to attend something "very decent" from a hacker, since well.... they ARE hackers in the first place.
Thanks alot Chu, this makes all of us aware of it.
Happy now? I'm good mannered!

Yeah, but think about people like me and Yoshi who use hacks for reasons other than trying to beat our opponent in games. This convinced me to stop using them. Even though I don't use them for harmful purposes.
haha, oh no, not my cd-key! anything but that! most major hack sites make private hacks and are trojan and keylogger free, and only small hack sites infest them with those things. if you download from the hack makers site, its always virus, trojan, and keylogger free.
what if the hackmaker wants some new cdkeys??
Chu's right, we don't use hacks to harm other people. Yes, I have a CD key for the winbot. Yes, I have the map unprotector. Yes, I have a version of maphack. Do I use them against other players? Heck no. Starcraft ain't fun when you have an advantage. I use these things for preventing others from using them.
I dont have a map unprotector or winbot, but i have maphack, that i dont use exept when testing my maps on my own.
CD-Keys are easy to get. Just walk down to wal-mart and take as many as you want.
If you're using hacks for mapping purposes, I'm sure it's nothing you can't do with triggers.
Now you know why some stores put their games in plastic cases, because people just walk by, open it, write down the key, leave. Very simple. But the game is only like 10-20 bucks depending where you live and it's not that much... I'm sure they should be able to afford it unless they're poor.
