Metroid Prime 2: Echoes


Story:

A Galactic Federation ship has disappeared in pursuit of a band of
Space Pirates. At the request of the Federation Samus journeys to the
planet Aether, the location of the ship's last transmission. There,
Samus finds herself in an incredible world where light and dark
intertwine in two unstable dimensions. The Light World is controlled by
the Luminoth, a peaceful tribe with a unique and highly developed
civilization. Their four gigantic energy generators are all that keep the
Light World from collapsing. But that civilization faces imminent
destruction at the hands of the invading Ing Horde, beings born of the
Dark World. If the Ing seize control of the generators, the Light World
will be extinguished forever. Samus embarks on her mission to defeat
the Ing and restore peace to Aether. However, an ominous shadow
lurks in the darkness, a shadow which quietly stalks Samus.


Game info:

- Players 1 - 2


Battle Conditions:

- Paralysis
- Posioned
- Phazon Energy (Takes away health faster then Poision)
- Confused
- Burned (Like Poision but from a Firebat, Firewall trap, etc)
- Dodging enemy attacks


Battle Systems:

Some battles will be faught in a war between the Evil Ing and the Peacefull Luminoth, you, having to help out the Luminoth become victorious.

- Ing infecting a Luminoth Warrior to change to the Dark Side
- Appearing and dissapearing warriors from Dimension rips
- Special Warriors (Heroes) with abilities

Special Features:

- Drop Ship / Shuttle / Overlord for Inventory usage.
- Ground-Mechanical Unit Stealing
- Every Citizen Luminoth are Interactive
- Most City Buildings are Interactive

- Missiles

Thanks, as of now i am working on ideas of weapons, abilities, items,
Terrain and Battle Systems. happy.gif Mainly i just started so basicly everything.

I certainly won't have a BETA soon, cause i'm gunna take time and effert into this map/series, in a couple days i Might have an ALPHA out soon, but i highy dought it... But i will what i can to get the best out of this map happy.gif

I'll be more than happy to test for you. I would make some music for you, but this is metroid. Best to use metroid music of course. I got no ideas for it right now, but if or when I get some, I'll tell you them right away. GL with map.

That is what i am working on... battle systems, i will also do my best to add special conditions such as

- Confused (walks randomly around)
- Paralysis (can't move)
- Phazon energy (if i can find a way to accurately take away health)
- Burned (same as phazon but by different units)

Some battles will be faught while in the middle of a war between
the Evil Ing and the Peacefull Luminoth! With special effects such as:

hmm if u have an inventory or a trigger based shooting system definately use a dropship or building method or nething that doesnt take ur attention away from ur unit, like beacons do

Yea also beacons arent that... hrmm... creative, and mainly serve 1 purpose.

I will consider using the dropship method
i might add the Mech Test trick to the map, to take control of tanks,
vultures, etc. anything thats ground/mechanical.

You can also use a bunker instead of an airship. However, it only has 4 slots.

Hmmm! that might be a good idea, i myself have never seen that in a map before.
So it might be an original inventory usage. happy.gif

I just thought of something, The Terran Bunker can only hold Infantry units.
Not lots of combinations like Drones, Probes, etc. Basicly only SCV, Marine, Medic,
Firebat, Ghost, and Heroes of the past units. That's only what i know.

[glow=Use dropship...definatly...bunker could work if all items were terran infantry but then you wouldnt have much choice for terran heros or extras. Dropship is best by far. when you come out with beta i would like to test smile.gif good luck with it.]orange[/glow]

I think he would just make a trigger that modify the hit points to a certain percent everytime....

Yes, but i will need to find a way to accurately take the HP away.

Also their will be Missile Tanks for more Missiles, and Energy Tanks for more Health. But those are not able to be bought in a Shop, they will be hidden so you must find them.

Idea: You could have the dropship and shuttle be items/abilities, find 8 unused units and put them in as "Slot 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8". Then have overlord as the battle interactions like jumping shooting etc... just a random idea tongue.gif.

I've been there too, but all the ones I saw there are Midis, so you'd have to convert.


for the Poison effect, I simply suggest that you use virtual HP, with a scoreboard.
That's by-far one of the easiest ways to accurately remove HP constantly, along with not allowing exploitations of cheats and being able to have more health than you should.

Lastly... YHOLY SWEETNESS your map sounds cool so far!

I can just use the score board for status HP such as health conditions like being poisoned, burned, phazon energy damage, etc. etc. all the stuff that is not attacks,
also it can be health for magic attacks, but damage will be used normally as the Unit health, so if the Score board reaches 0 then Samus will die, also if her real HP gets to 0 then she will die. how would that sound?

But if i find a way to use them together as 1 such as Switches for the posion, damage etc., andhave it so it wont make the health preserve as that 1 set health,
then that would be very good, i'll only use that if theres absolutley no glitches.

I dont think you should make a trailer, it distracts you from the main game, no trailer! Use what creativity you were going to use on the trailer in your map. It makes them alot better.
