do you need to buy as many of an offensive weapon as your offensive soldier count is? for example you have 10 attackers. do you need to buy 10 gauss rifles?

No, you buy as many as you can afford. It just ups your damage

The more men you have the more weapons you SHOULD have. But dont get more weapons than men or they will go unused.
