Hey i see a lot of posts about people showing there cool terrain ideas like super sweet bridges and the pyramid things but i dont know where they make them.

If anyone know what programe theese people use and if i coudl download it that would be very helpful cause i would like to try my hand at it some time.

Thx for your time. Good luck on all your map projects

For extended terrain, you use starforge, found here
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=166
Then you go to the terrain layer and select pallete (middle left of screen) and pallete of each individual terrain tile on that tileset appears. Then you use those to create 3d looking buildings, long bridges, etc etc

They use SCMDraft 2 or StarForge. You should already know how to use StarEdit proficiently before you start playing with them, as they can be difficult for beginners to understand.

In StarForge, there's a master palette and you can combine a lot of tiles to make one big image

No guide, sorry. Once you get into the tile pallete you're on your own.

You gotta learn the way I learned whenever you need to do something just ask around until someone knows how, when you're a beginner most people know how, some things aren't possible.

It's quite easy to do but you need losts of patiense.

Put in lots of well placed square tiles. Make them look like something you want. The Terrain will always be flat, no matter how high it looks.
It's just a technique to trick the eye into thinking that its higher than what you think.

There are a couplr of topics out there in SEN that are about extended terrain. just look and see the examplaes.

Yeah when skycrapers and things are released in a mass, UMS games will change majorly. I'm waiting eagerly for that time. =)
