Report, edit, etc...Posted by NerdyTerdy on 2004-08-22 at 19:32:16
Hey today I have been messing around with health and I discovered that Starforge will not allow health to go beyond 1 point of eachother
Ex) I did 7/4 and in game it appeared as 5/4. Any suggestions?

It's always going to do that. Like if you set it at 90/80, it's going to show up at 81/80. Same thing with other numbers. But if you place some sprites, then uncheck "Draw as sprite", you can get some wicked numbers. Like 200/1, 500/50, for health.

Thanks Exile. So I just gotta make sprites for the cool health? Well can you give sprites to players and the players be able to use them?

Yeah they work and stuff. But you can't create them. They have to be preplaced.

Don't some sprites such as Marines crash SC?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2004-08-22 at 20:06:04
Marines have never crashed me...
And yes there are namy sprites that can/will crash a game.

Damnit the thing is I'm creating Marine Bound I have a cool ass picture in the center which I hand drew because my BMP2SCM isn't working lol, and I want to make marines and since you can't make sprites it won't work for a bound sad.gif.

Make sure you're on the sprite mode. But uh, the units start at 0 (0=Marine as a unit). 0 as a sprite would be a Ash World dirt arch1. So you place that and uncheck the box. But as for the sprites, some do crash.

Place a Rock Arch and uncheck it. Go with that.

Any ideas for awesome health for a Terran Marine non sprite? So that I can consistantly (sp?) make it cool? like maybe 200/199 or something any ideas that make it look cool? I have tried a few but they're not very good colors.

A 2/1 Terran unit sometimes makes a brown wireframe(only alittle brown).

Here's what I discovered long ago...

The unit's wireframe/HP/name all connect/extra box all connect in StarForge.

When you name a unit that has an overlapped name and color marks and invisible ones and you do the extra box above 0 in StarForge, it will change the wireframe of the unit. It changes from different styles of blue/grey in Zerg & critter units and changes the colors/parts of Terran/Protoss units. Change the numer in the extra box and it will change the styles. But with Terran/Protoss it changes every game.

Post some screenshots or a map. I'm curious to see.

Me too.

Remember, the sprites, how it works is they'll have the amount of HP they have default(MArine, 40, Zealot, 100, zergling, 35, etc), so you have to use less than their default HP

I would also like to see it thanks.

Units with wire frames like marines wont work all the time. ie. things like zerg units work, archons work and things like tanks and marines wont. Did someone already say this? what ever, i odnt censored.gif ing care.... im censored.gif ing missing a mae concert bcouse i couldent get a censored.gif ing ride.

EDIT: try 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 thoes work well... i could go into more detail but im censored.gif ing pissed off now so msg me on sc if you want to know anything. and who ever said that thing abut having to overlap test to do it dosent knwo hwat the hell their talking about. also, its dependant on tileset. jungle glows blue with some brown, ash is orange and stuff, and things like space and instal dont glow at all they just stay the same bright blue color and stuff. and the reason you odnt use marines and tanks and zlots and censored.gif is becouse they only works half the time and even then they dont glow.... ok im done ranting now....

For that just set HP to 0.

Explain more detailed please/

Ok im less pissed now... anyway the there are three main color settings which can be achived by setting a units hp to 1/3, 2/3, or 3/3. Dispite hwat you may have herd from people like XGuy( idk if he posts here) 3/3 is not 3 hp. Like i said, its also dependant on tileset.

Badlands/jungle: Glows blue, darker blue, and brown.

Ash: Glows orange, shades or red(i think, it might just be another shade of orange), and brown

Twilight: Dark blue , darker blue, brown.

Space/Installation: Dosent glow, but it has this weird neon blue efect.

Desert:Cant remember.

Arc: cant remember eather, but i thnk its just brown and two shades of blue. probabaly lighter than badlands and definately lighter than twi.

Note: The brown in all of these dosent glow... ever. Oh, and 3/3 dosent show some of the colors, its mostly black. Theres more but sts is playing in the background and its pissing me off evev further. mellow.gif

EDIT: Dseert is just shades of brown. Two of which glow, one dosent.

EDIT: FYI, other hp values work, i just like to use thoes 3.

EDIT: Ice or Arctic or w/e is what i thought it was.
Note: Its a good idea to eather make the units invinsable or set their hp over 9999 when your using this. Having 4/3 hp just looks unprofesional.

EDIT: Units that have their shealds set to 10000(or anything over 9999) that usaly dont have shealds wont have shealds at all, but you still cant see their hp. I find this extreamly useful.

EDIT: Again, like i said, you shouldent use terran units or most protoss units b/c of their wireframe thingys. Some times they work, other times they just turn orange, green, yallow, etc. Ill post a list of units that work.

EDIT:
-All zerg units(not sure about buildings)
-Archons and Dark Archons
-Recorce nodes(mineral thingys type 1 2 and 3, geysers)
-Mineral chunks (type 1 and 2), Gass sack things(1&2), and the gass tanks(1&2)
-I cant remember but i think that big ass crystal formation thing works too.

EDIT: Im getting tired of editing, ill finish when you people post something.

EDIT: Does anyone else think its just alittle creepy that this topic has been here for 2 days and it had over 100 views? And no, im not adding anything else even remotely relavent till someone posts.

EDIT: censored.gif nvm, my freind dosent want me to.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EzDay281 on 2004-08-23 at 23:02:04
I'd think critters would be effected, as they use the same HP Status Thingy, instead of the wireframe of Terran and non-Archon-Protoss units

Your right, i forgot about them. Anyway like i said i wont, for fear of my life(not really), post anymore.

What does 7/4 mean? I never heard of that before!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2004-08-23 at 23:22:02
7 current HP, 4 max HP. So you have HP: 7/4
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EzDay281 on 2004-08-23 at 23:51:17
No, it means 7 in the Alternate HP box to the left of the normal one, in Starforge... -_-

I think... O_o
