Im trying to make a VERY acurate BloodGulch level Its coming along pretty well i had some help with my warping trigger from KiLLeR2001 (which i thank again). iight ya'll ill post it when its done.Ill attach a beta version when i get the triggers for the weapons and vehicles done.

If it is very accurate can we expect to be able to sky walk in the air like we can do in Halo? lol

two bases, red and blue, circles with a hole in the middle, where flag was, rocket laucnher in the middle of the feild, sniper rifles ontop of the bases, also has a small set of tunnels

I would just like to say (Before i open the beta) That you CAN NOT recrate that level for these reasons:

In that level you can be under a compound (Not possible in SC)
You can pick up new weapons or switch between two with E and Tab button (Not possible in SC)
You can Run over people with worthogs (Possible but isnt the same without the speed)
As said before the veichles give you speed and which tanks and goliaths dont
Last i checked you cant fit a mounted gun on a tank.
Same goes with Banshees

Conclusion: YOU CANT RECREATE A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER ONTO STARCRAFT

Well first off ignore the criticism, you never should let it bother you. but here are my suggestions:

-Map size is too big, as far as I can remember Halo maps were never that big (correct me if I'm wrong I can only recall a few multiplayer maps) Either way a smaller map would mean more action since there would be less distance to travel to reach the enemy.

-Secondly, relook over the stats for all the units. The ghost is a prime example. Each unit should have a few that its good against and a few that it doesn't do so well against.

-Being able to select any unit at the start is no fun and that isnt how it works in Halo. Scatter neutral units over the map and make players have to walk up to select them.

-Perhaps put in an anti-camp system (I know the situation will arise where one team will comletely dominate)

-And Again, just incase you missed it the first time, go over the unit statistics.

I however, do see hope in this map as long as your willing to work hard on it sniper. I suggest you look over some of the old James Bond Arena maps, there a good example and should be able to give you some pointers.

Well that came out wrong and I'll apologize now for it. What I meant was for him to not take Golden Fist's comments personally and ending up in a situation where the author would give up on the map. I agree with you that constructive criticism is a good thing.

Ah, someone has finally set out to make a good halo map.
I havnt seen much halo maps that are worth calling good.
Some of the halo maps are fun, but stupid, i hope yours will be realistic, and fun at the same time....
now ill go dl the map and see what u did.

ummm, try desert terrain, make your own custom terrain in starforge or scm, and thats pretty much about it, without getting pissed off and trying to make a better map, i think i can do, until i prove myself wrong, so im not going to try.....

you should model the map off the xbox version instead of the computer version, that way the ppl who have xbox can understand what u did, and im sure(or atleast hope) the ppl with pc will too.

Oh, and i do like how its left to right instead of top to bottom, keep it like that.

iight thnx for the feedback...i will scatter stuff around.......and im stil looking into unit stats.....I2k-Warrior if u have a good idea of how they should be then share.....anyway..thnk for the suggestions ill take them into consideration...and I2k look at my respawn code....i cant figure out whats wrong with it.

but maybe hero vulture for a warthhog? (one wit rocket) and banshee like protoss scout....... it will be hard to make this the great halo map and NOTHING IS In POSSIBLE!! lol..

make it desert, atleast make shorter ramps for the compounds, i can help you work on the stats, i think ive done a pretty good job on balancing stats for my maps.

I'd show you one of my mpas, but i never finish them, im too lazy to do the triggers, i know how to do basic ones, but i need to spend more time working with triggers, thankfully i have a friend whos really good with triggers, who helps me biggrin.gif

Ok, you could have the regular marine as the MA5B Assault Rifle
the hero marine could be the M6D Pistol

heres my logic for that, the pistol has longer range, and does more damage thant the AR (4 hits with a pistol and your ded, some say they can drop you with only 3 hits), youd have to be really skilled to take out someone at long range with an assault rifle.
keep in mind this, duran fires alittle bit slower than the regular ghost, (so i hear).
Kerrigan could be:
M90 Shotgun
she has a shorter range than a ghost, and ghosts do 100% damage to small units such as marines, and 50% to large units such as tanks.
The hydra as the needler is fine.
and for some powerups:
active camoflauge isnt that hard to do; if player 161 owns a unit and you give it to another player such as player 1, it will cloak the unit, which is why it is possible to cloak an arbiter.

In the computer version, isnt there also a flame thrower?


I dont really wanna argue about your vehicles right now.
PLEASE MAKE IT DESSERT TERRAIN, thats one of the best things you can do for that map.

In comp there is a flamethrower
its in the caves on (top) right side of map

But i say again its hard/impossible to recreate a FPS
Liek rocket launcher
It should have 4 shots
cause if u pick up a rocket launcher it would do 9999 dmg and since this is starcraft and not FPS where u have to aim that would be cheap
This map is harder then it sounds =/

:ph34r: iight Silent, im gonna work on the terrain tonight. hey Silent if u have AOL u can im me on Halosniper87..or u could get AIM and we could talk bout stats and stuff.....Just an update that Respawn Trigger is still kicking my arse. and im working on spredin weapons around..the vehicles WILL stay where they are...and for all of u ppl out there, this is going to be modeled after the XBOX version......not PC..for alot of reasons which im not going into right now.....later on i might release a second AreaBloodGulch map modeled after the PC....but only after i get the PC version and depending on how well this map works. Yes i understand that most of the terrain......namley the caves are impossible to recreate in SC which means il just have to improvise.......anyway...im workin on weapons and terrain tonight and ill post the new one by the end of the week since i have to read all the feedback and try to see i can add some of ur suggestions in to the map..... :ph34r:

you know, too much negative critisism is bad also. I mean, it is good if it has some meaning to it, but a lot of the time I keep hearing things like it sucks and what not. Shut up or say something useful.

BTW, Halo Blood Gultch does not need banshies, because they are computer version only, he could call this an xbox version and get away with that. Later, he could add them in...

w00t.gif w00t.gif i gots the respawn trigger working right, i had to look at some other respawn triggers to see what i needed to do and i THINK i got it done. Oh Silent i made the map 192x96- looks kinda messed up but i think it might work.......and im doing dessert terrain...i looked at the terain and it looks better......i dont know if ill beable to do custom terrain or not cause im not that good with terrain and stuff yet...im good with triggers(somewhat). Hopefully the Redone Version will be ut by friday...if not ill send what i have to u and let u look over it. smoke.gif

even you have to say he wasnt 98% done when you dont have terrian

I have an idea for a cool gun system. Acording to where the guns are placed in the map you can have a dropship system or something so when you go near a weapon it can say like:
Switch Gun To: <Name Of Gun>
Then you unload something from the dropship

Actually you could make the caves and the inside of the two bases, just have a seperate location (cut off your map some where) and add those (5?) 'inside' spots there, and create move triggers to them, it would work quite well.

i agree with @:@, make locations to move the men to make the insides/tops of buildings/caves look better and a good weapon system would be cool
