Sounds are easy to steal, and there's nothing that can be done about that....

if any one puts a map stealer on this site they should be in serious trouble. some people worked long hours on those maps and then someone can take it and say it is ther own. that should not hapen!!

Whats with this talk... people already cracked proedit. Even they give me the program for cracking it.... Just that my comp cna't run it anymore because of this virus.. im just saying...it had been done. (But, they are keep trying to break level 5? yea. the new level of protection i think. And, they done level 4 but not level 5)

I doubt anyone's cracked PROEdit. And for sounds it's called WinMPQ. -_-

Tux's trailer isn't protected with ProEdit.

It's protected with GUEedit, which can be unprotected.

This map here is just null terrain, has 0 players, 0 units, and is 64x64 in size. It can be openned with any editor if it's unprotected.

Anything, even goverment kept stuff can be cracked. It's just that the better locks have passwords or keys that have millions of combinations.

To me he seems like Archn (Not mind archon, mind you (Hehe I made a funny)) steals people's things (SCUnprotect, Archns Protect, pretty much everything) and claims as him. He probly uses SCU, which is a piece of crap that Archn stole and can't really be used anymore.

I can't remember if it was he was working on ti with someone, or if it was just someone who thought he could trust him, but he stole it, removed the other guys name, and put in his and released it. With his protect, he stole a version of Proedit and did the same thing. He's just a 'o' bull

Due to the sensitive nature of this discussion, I'm going to tell you guys the whole story, but I'm going to omit the names of the community members involved (except the common knowledge ones), because anyone involved has already suffered enough grief over the incident.

Heimdal made SCU to challenge himself and for his own use. I wouldn't have shared it with anybody, but hey, it was his choice. The few friends with whom he shared it were overjoyed. One of them leaked SCU to Archn (an amateur programmer of no particular skill), and he edited it and put in his name. As if the theft wasn't bad enough, he released it to the public, screwing GUEDit and SCMToolkit's protection over.

A long time passed, and there were many heated arguments about blame and responsibility and stuff like that at the Team SE forums. Even Archn showed up to defend himself in his crazy kind of way. About that time Clokr_ was finishing up the beta (or was it alpha?) of ProEdit. He showed it to Heimdal and some friends, one of which was the person who leaked SCU to Archn. Archn got ahold of the prerelease of ProEdit through the same person and did it again. Released under the name ArchPro, the program wasn't heavily distributed because it didn't work.

The entire incident has been over with for a while, and all involved have moved on. I hold no anger towards Heimdal for making SCU (he's contributed so much), Archn for stealing it, and the leaker for leaking it (I deeply appreciate his mapping skill). It's over and done with, and people should just let it lie.

Ugghhh, so lemme get this straight: Newest ProEdit is still safe?
