I'm making this poll because I have come to a dilemna in my next map, Rev's Battle System 5. The traditional system is easier to do, but provides less manipulation like a potion can only heal percents. The randomized damage method allows damage to be randomized, potions to be varied in effectiveness and can introduce things such as more hp as you level up and more stats for the player to upgrade.

Please choose wisely, I'll decide which method after I read this poll in a couple days.

Like 10dmg +1d10?

I have an idea how that would be done. But it's your map.

Yeah, randomized damage would be pretty kool biggrin.gif for example:

12-16 damage

So pretty much like Wc3 damage?

Yeah, definitely use randomized damage, otherwise a simplistic map thats not skill based lacks potential. However, if you add a bit of luck along with the skill, the map gains elements that it otherwise would not have. I understand what you are trying to do, and support you and wish you luck with it.

I thought on SC you can't do randomized Damage. The idea is much like WC 2 and WC 3!

Randomized would be by far better because then you wouldnt be able to predict when you have to heal and you wouldn't wait until the last second to heal and it adds more realism.

I'll post a map I've posted many times that shows randomized damage. It involves using a lurker under your actual unit that takes the damage. When the lurker dies, you will either lose 10,20 or 0 damage. The lurker system allows splash however... Armor will be more important. Health is displayed on the board, not on your hero... so you have to watch out more.
