Say I have something like 100 triggers running constantly for every player. That makes some lag no? So I attempted to do the 2x speed thing (P14 map revealer) and what did it do but do a freaky fog of war thing over my most of my men. Buildings seemed to be deleted and blah blah. Main point is it didn't work. I then tried the P13 map revealer, and what did that do but freeze my computer!
In a 1v1 match of my map (Dagorlad: Battle Plain) it seemed to lag a LOT. There are about 1450 starting units but everything ran smooth until I put in the heat wave effect. Then everything went down the crap-hole. I tried the map revealers but they just messed up completely. Any ideas on how to cut down the lag?
*Note* Our connections are fine. Each of us had cable, so we won't lag like that. Is it a combination of the massive amount of units, triggers running, and types of triggers that is causing this lag? I don't want to mess around a lot because if I screw this map up I will dieeeee.
*Edit* Ignore the conversation. This is the P14 map revealer in action!
For the speediness, p14 units need to be the first units placed.
I'll try to "consolidate" lag....
lol that looks like a night effect.
Ugghhhh, I tried to create a P14 map revealer in SF and it said "P14 Parameter Alias not recognized."
Try creating all your units via triggers or ordering to move around with triggers after the p14 revealer is placed.
1. Download SCMIE.
2. Delete the P14 Map Revealer.
3. Export the units with SCMIE.
4. Delete all units and save.
5. Place a P14 Map Revealer.
6. Import all units and add them back with SCMIE.
Viola, the P14 Map Revealer is the first unit.

nice fog. your problem gave me an idea. =D
Those units can't move and are "frozen in time". Place the units you want frozen before you place the speed unit and save, then place the units you want to be able to move after that and save again.
What would happen if I just moved a map revealer there? Actually, I'd like to skip the 2x speed crap and learn how to make my map faster trigger-wise.
*Edit* Here are the triggers. Any ideas on how to make them faster? Oh crap, the trigger file is 1.44 mb. Guess I won't be sending it!
can that be utilized? or are those units in the fog useless?
