Do you mean a lag detector trigger? It's one of the random map making tips

Make a location on a high terrain so ground units cant walk on and it will do a unplacement error. So, make a civilian bring to a location, then create 255 units on the location to make the units. It will unplace like crazy, and the lagger will drop out.

No, the slowest computer will drop out, not the one with the worst connection, so be careful.

You can also do it with a Wav file, but then, that is seriously annoying to everyone else! You get a 2 second wav file, and set it to repeat up to 20 times, straight away and it will go over itself, and it will slow the whole game down, if you want to create lag...

hmm, instead of having a trigger where the person drops out, howabout having a ban where it requires atleast 2 or 3 players to do it, that sometimes works if someone lags, everyone will be willing to ban him, if someone pisses another person off, he cant just ban him, if a person backstabs, they all will wanna ban him, so its kinda universal.
but to create lag, howabout you have one location somewhere thats one sqaure, creat and remove alot of burrowed units really fast using hyper triggers, or if u do it w/o hyper triggers it might mess up and drop the slowest COMP.
since saving the game only shows the slowest comp, not the slowest connection, ppl think its me who lags, but i have cable.... (my comp is a gateway w/ apentium II). BUt my dad just f-disked it a month ago, so i shouldnt lag cus of my comp.....

hmm..
better stick with that ban thing in my opinion

Rofl nice idea, coko. Get a sound like a scream for 2 seconds, that'll be so kool.

I don't recommend this "Lag Detector," as it has exactly the same effect that a host saving the game would have. Neither one however, works accurately. Your best bet would just be to check pings and DL speeds, but be careful because often a slow uploader makes a DLer look bad.

Also Faz, remember to take map size into account.

And I'd really have to agree with Silent on the community ban. Although what would be nice is adding in a quick way of detecting how many people are in the game by preplacing 1 of a certain unit for each player, and then at the beginning that number is added up and sets a different switch. That way, you would be able to set it so more people have to be on the beacon. Then when the person left you would have a trigger removing that unit for player 12, and then that switch would be set off and then the switch for the number of players on would be turned on.
