Nice avatar, bad questions.

1650, no, no, think so.

*Edit* The name "War of the Ring" is already a map name. Please try again!

goliaths count as 2 units? were you talking about supply or units in any map?

doodads do not count as units, you cannot place interceptors or scarabs, they disappear at the start of the game.

Even though a BattleCruiser is 6 Food Supply in a game, it would only count as one unit in StarEdit.

The max units that can be on a map is 1700. Doodads do not count as units. Doodads are either pure terrain, or mixtures of sprites and terrain. A goliath, body and head, count as 1 unit. Scarabs and interceptors count as units, yes.

I thought goliaths count as 2 along with tanks, the turret and the body?

And the supply has absolutely nothing to do with unit count. Doodads take up a sprite usually and sprites limit is like 1024. Bullets and some other images count as sprites too.

I know that 1650 units can be preplaced, but rather then assume I'd like to ask DeathKnight where the 1700 came from. Can 50 units be created after the 1650 max as a safety feature for UMS games?

The editor only allows 1650 but starcraft actually allows 1700 before it starts giveing you the error.

Actually, I doubt the sprite limit is 1024... If you have 1700 units, then that would mean 1700-1024 units would not be displayed. So, no that limit would probably be incorrect.

I think the sprite limit only counts pure sprites and not hte unit count. Unless I'm wrong in think that bullets and stuff are pure sprites and normal units don't take a sprite.

Oooohhhhhh......told biggrin.gif If you place the maximum sprite limit for example, some things could go wrong in the game...and as everyone else said....1700 max IN-GAME and 1650 max IN-EDITOR

Quote Response: Wrong thread you posted at. At least you could still put something after that which is relevent to the topic.

About the sprite and unit limit stuff, in scmdraft 2 settings you can change the limit of how many units and sprites you can place, but i suppose they get deleted soon after the game starts or something or other would happen so make it less than 1700. But i haven't tried it, but if what i assumed was true, the feature doesn't help much.

You can do the same in starforge, it only changes the limit in the editor, not while playing the game, yes I've tested.
