Not sure if this is the right place but need help. Me and my freinds wanted to play sc but they couldn't join my games i create bcuz of a "The latency to the game creator is too high" msg. I'm wondering does a router have something to do with this?
Latency has to do with how bad/good a person is lagging. If your friends are getting that message a lot when they try to join your games. Then your connection must suck or your in a gateway that is not the best one you could be using. Not sure if a router has anything to do with it.
You have lots of options....
1. Remake the game
2. Reconnect to B.net
3. Reconnect to the Internet
4. Restart Computer
5. Clear the B.net Cache (Delete bncache.dat in your StarCraft folder)
Solution 2:
Most of the time, you can clear your lat by telling your friend to make a game, join it and leave and then you host the map you want to play.
If you have a firewall, you'll need to open some ports to fix your problem.
Or if you and your friends are trying to play on bnet but are on the same router it will always make the latency too high, I dont know why but that's how it i for mine.

Same thing that happens for me and my bro when I try to join his games. U can't join his, and he lags out of mine.
Fire walls effect this the most so just turn it off or just have your friends make games and if you dont have firewall reconnect
Hmm also I have DSL but my other comp right next to my other comp can't join each others games. But I dunno. But yeah sometimes reconnecting to B.net then quickly making the game can sometimes work.
I can join the games on my other computer. I can also join games with this computer but sometimes it doesnt work... If i have a freind over and we both join a game we lag liike crazy casue we are using the same server

but it perfectly fine if we just to 2 of us play on a game
yeah...getting that message is REALLY annoying on Battle.net

it seems some computers are incapable of joining others. like whenever i join my friends games it works perfectly, but if he tries to join mine it gives him the latency crap. but others can do it perfectly. thats y i got aim so we could swap files that way

I hate that message. It's been giving me trouble since day 7. The days before that i was learning how to play Starcraft. I don't know how to pearmanently fix it.
well all i have to say is that your internet probably sucks
When that happens, I go and log onto b-net again and hope I get a faster server. That solves it most the time.
Please guys.. this is not all about your internet sucks, its the firewall! If you have XP you are most likely to have a built-in firewall.. you will need to open ports!
In addition, even if you have a wireless 11mb per second speedy ADSL connection, it still screws the latency so its not all about you lagging.

thats true!!!
When people join your game and they download slow...does that mean the host is lagging or the people?
Always depends... Usually it's the guy that DL itself.
Don't think no one really knows that
