Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Where Is Anywhere?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ninjax on 2004-08-27 at 16:08:26
Ok, I've made my layout. Spent hours balancing the units. Now when I start making triggers, I can't find the location Anywhere in the selection of triggers. For example, I make an Action:
Create 1 Marine for Player 1 at "Location".

Well when I click Location, I can't find anywhere!!!
Something more mysterious is that there is a location that I never made and can't find on the map. That mysterious location has the same name as Force 3, so if I change the name of Force 3, that location's name changes too. That is really ticking me off cause it demolished my map. Please help

What that is strange, what you could do is try to see if the force 3 location is anywhere and if it isnt ruining your map just make a new location that enclosses the whole map and name it anywhere, then just use that.

Anywhere can't be found, it is a hidden location which fills the whole map no matter how big it is, when removing a unit by 1, it will remove starting from the bottom left and work its way up and right, same with any other treigger which can do something with 1 unit at a time, it is a location that is anywhere tongue.gif

I can't find that location, nor do I even remember making a location like that. I have tried manually making an "Anywhere" location by filling the whole map with a location but that somehows fails to work. There is something disrupting me from get triggers involving locations to work.

what programs have you used on the map?

anywhere is what it says, it places the unit (or etc.) on a random place on the map. no more locations required biggrin.gif

Placing units at anywhere does not place them randomly, it places them in the direct center of the anywhere location which is the center of the map.

The only way, and I repeat only way to edit the anywhere location is through so CHK stuff, I don't know how but I'm like 99% positive that's how. Obviously it's a waste since you got 255 other locations plus Move location.

Either you're just not looking good enough, or something is really messed up with whatever editor you're using.
