Could someone check the name for me?

Well, pretty much this is a beginner's(me) starting map. Its a protect map in which you protect youself and the town against the Zerg.

- Haven't got any sound in (haven't decided)
- Haven't set difficulty(ies)
- You have multiple choices to choose from
- You can upgrade your unit
- Get mulitply units to defend with
- Welcome to ideas, I'll try to add in...

If anyone minds test it but I haven't got the timer right yet so no unit spawning yet.
Personally, this is kinda a down-in-the-dirt map conpared to what other members of SEN can make...

Edit 1: The timer sort of works, but you cant play it single player

Edit 2: I'm going to replace thie file with a newer updated file about once every week

Edit 3: The map has kinda stopped for a bit because I'm adjusting to my new stupid school schedule! I got all my easy and sleepy classes for the first semester! crazy.gif

Just wondering, is it only 1 player so far it seemed that way?

If it is, making it multiplayer would be good, like have another base or something then make it sorta a protect/special forces map. WHere the attacks are really strong ulnike most special forces where teh attacks die in like a second, but you must also split your time and attack the zerg base.

Hey, that's a good idea... but kinda got to finish one base at a time biggrin.gif

You need
- Colors
- Map revealers in the hero selection area
- Different stats, the heroes are just regular units with different names
- The zerg to attack

the base is a bit big for what little you have in it now. Maybe either shrinking the base or adding more buildings and things to do when in it. One thing I suggest against, giving all the town structures and units to a comp and have the humans only control the heroes, that just gets boring and is over used, force the humans to work togehtor to build defenses in one loaction. Unlike most defense type games.

Okay. Well, I'm just using StarEdit first then I'll edit with SF, but right now I don't understand SF triggers so using StarEdit to make triggers.

There's a tutorial on starforge triggers in the Map Making tricks and help archive. Aren't you using SCXE instead of staredit?

You could use SCXE. It's the same trigger format since it's just a mod of staredit.

Plus the starforge triggers aren't as complicated as people think. When you select an action or condition the syntax is shown right above. YOu use that to figure out what information to put where. If you know the syntaxs and type well SF triggers go faster tahn in staredit.

I think I'll stick to StarEdit for now and change it later... I'm thinking of making the heroes, Heroes that they can use and they have to do a team defense from the Zerg... Just wondering if it would work...

Its a cool idea but isn't that a lot like mini town d.

Its not done yet... Mini D you use heroes, but for mine you get to build an army and have heroes that lead, sorta thing... Its a multi-player defense map that's going to be big, as long has there are multiple players...

Perhaps if you made multiple teams competing in a defense map, however they could attack each other? Competing against an AI just isnt the same.

That's true be¢Aause when I played Mini Town Ð, nôt everyône ¢ô-ôperated and help defend the tôwn which was annôying because all they did was train and that's hôw we gôt killed disgust.gif
§o I might make it so its a single ¢ômpetition defense that U get to attack ôther players, but also have to defend your ôwn base!

Alright wtf can someone shut the spammers the hell up?

Now-- heroes are almost always a definite must, but they can't be too overpowering or it censored.gifs up the gameplay balance when players get too many of them at once. An easy way to do this is to make them have more life, and equal damage. If you make them have equal life and more damage then 2 heroes can hold off an army, which sucks.

SCXE is just a mod of StarEdit. It's still as user-friendly and comes with more options. I suggest getting it now and learning it, because later on down the road you will need it.
