Report, edit, etc...Posted by Elvang on 2004-08-29 at 23:33:17
I looked at the map making trick and help archive and saw hypertriggers and how to use them, so I added em to my map and if anything the triggers run slower. Can someone perhaps explain in detail how to use hypertriggers incase I miss understood the page.

Make sure they're at the bottom of the trigger list of the player they're owned by. Plus make sure teh players that own them have no other wait actions.

ok heres how it should be done.

-Trigger-
-Trigger-
-Trigger-
repaeat for as many as u have
-then heres the hyper trigger-

the hyper trigger is a single trigger on its own. dont put it in with another trigger you have otherwise it will censored.gif up that trigger.

Hyper Triggers are several triggers, not just one. If you only have one you will experience a two second wait eventually. If you have 4-5 HTs with 62 waits each, you won't get that wait for 6 hours or something like that. Bolt knows what the real numbers are.

i usually use around 3 hypers becuase any more would be a waste (i think)
add them to the end of ur map

example here

3 is enough, and that lasts for a bit over 5 hours without the wait, unless its six. I dunno just wait for bolt. BUt it's at least 5, and you're almost never gonna have a game last longer than that so it really aint a problem.

Though once it gets there your censored.gif ed...

Make sure wherever you put these Hyper Triggers that no Waits are present as well, which are over, what 100 milliseconds? Do not put them in Forces either...

Could you just give the hypertriggers to a computer player, and have that computer player do nothing BUT mind the hypertriggers?

Yea that's what I try to do usually. Hyper triggers for one player affect all players so their location is meaningless, just the fact that you have them.

i always put them for all players at the very bottom of the list

That is the normal place to put them, though i prefer having them at the Top of All Players and just not adding Waits to that field, but thats how i work my Triggers, i put all the background requirements in first, then work on the Map as it were.

It's 3 trigger 62 waits and it is last about 5hours adn 53 minutes before the "NEO".

I can't get on my computer now so I can't see the document file that has the exact numbers. I prefer to place the hyper triggers for a computer. If you place them for the all players group creating triggers under the other players will then be created after the hyper trigger. Most the time this isn't noticed so it becomes a problem.

I had a thread not to long ago that described how hyper triggers worked. Do a search for it.

84, which is how fast triggers are checked.
